Re: [Beta] Medal System Mod for phpbb3

Post by harry_lime »

hi there. great mod and excellent that it's been picked up again.

everything works fine for me but i would like to add the number of medals won (under the medal images which are already there) next to an individual post. something like:

Medals & Trophies: 44

i tried using the code below, taken from the "memberlist_view.html" but it doesn't disply the total.

Code: Select all

<dt>{L_MEDALS_VIEW}:</dt> <dd>{USER_MEDAL_COUNT} </dd>
probably a stupid mistake i'm making but any help would be appreciated.

cheers h

harry_lime : that should display by default with that option selected (above the medal images).

Please check the edit to viewtopic_body.html and you will see the code in place already.

cheers,
oddfish.

hi there. just coming back to this again. i see i'm missing a bit of code which i adapted from the originally download and now can't find. what i have is this in viewtopic_body.html:

Code: Select all

		<!-- BEGIN medal -->
		<!-- IF postrow.medal.S_HAS_MEDALS or postrow.medal.S_HAS_NOMINATIONS -->
<!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- BEGIN medal_row -->
            <dd><!-- BEGIN medal_col -->
               <span style="position:relative; left:{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_LEFT}px;
               top:{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_TOP}px;
               z-index:{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_ZINDEX};">
<a href="http://www.alternate-poker.com/forum/medals.php">
               <img src="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_IMAGE}" border="0" alt="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_NAME} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_COUNT}" title="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_NAME} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_COUNT}" {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_WIDTH} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_HEIGHT} />
           </a>   </span>
            <!-- END medal_col --></dd>
			<!-- END medal_row -->
		<!-- END medal -->
...i'd appreciate it if you could post the missing part which i believe should be near the beginning.

sorry for the hassle.

With the original code:

Code: Select all

		<!-- BEGIN medal -->
		<!-- IF postrow.medal.S_HAS_MEDALS or postrow.medal.S_HAS_NOMINATIONS --><dd><strong>{L_MEDALS}:</strong> {postrow.medal.MEDALS_COUNT}{postrow.medal.MEDALS_NOMINATED}</dd><!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- BEGIN medal_row -->
			<dd>
				<!-- BEGIN medal_col -->
					<img src="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_IMAGE}" border="0" alt="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_NAME} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_COUNT}" title="{postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_NAME} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_COUNT}" {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_WIDTH} {postrow.medal.medal_row.medal_col.MEDAL_HEIGHT} />
				<!-- END medal_col -->
			</dd>
			<!-- END medal_row -->
		<!-- END medal -->
Presents what you need. Just enable the ACP as stated by Jessica.

when installing I get this with AutoMod!!!

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file / includes / functions.php on line 4701: Undefined index: medals_active

Bug fix solved!!!!

Open: includes/functions.php

Find :

Code: Select all

		'U_MEDALS'				=> ($config['medals_active'] == 1) ? append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}medals.$phpEx") : '',
Delete this part

Upload the file and install the mod...

After installing the mod bone undo changes made to put it back as it was!

Not the way to solve this and certainly not a bug fix but thanks for posting the error.

A simple hack would be to ignore ($config['medals_active'] == 1) ? by removing it with debug turned on. I'll post a solution in the next update.

cheers,
oddfish.
