Re: [RC] Reputation System

I installed this with AUTOMOD (I downloaded it off github) and everything is in the admin section.

But nothing at all to do with rep shows up anywhere on the forum.

How do I make it appear and start functioning?

Before you say, I have checked all settings in admin and made sure it's turned on etc

Is this the problem?:

Current Version 0.7.0

Latest Version 0.6.3

I seem to have a more up-to-date version than what it says is latest.

Left a bunch of junk still installed but not working of course.

If you had read my previous post you would have known that 0.7.0 is a prerelease version and it's only for testing.
It is not possible to make downgrade from 0.7.0 to 0.6.3 due to of some changes in DB.

If you still don't see voting thumbs, read wiki on github or search the answear it that thread. I guess you didn't enable RS in all forum.

I googled and found a released mod on github. I didn't even come to this thread until it failed.

Why is it even available online if it's not ready for release?

I've tried to uninstall it and it's left behind a bunch of failed code.

Will I have to wait until the release to reinstall 0.7.0 so it works? Because right now all it's done is mess up some areas of my forum.

It's available so people can try it out. You should probably wait till it's officially released

Why didn't it just uninstall properly so I could revert and install the current stable release?

It left all this junk around that people can click and end up on a General Error because the mod can't find the files because it's 'not located' as it's uninstalled, but appears to have left behind a bunch of code.

What am I supposed to do? Wait until a working 0.7.0 is released and reinstall that?

Did you installa it via AutoMod? You can always uninstall it manually by reverting changes from the installation instruction. Run install_reputation.php and choosing "uninstall" will remove all DB changes made by RS.

At the end, the descriptions of that forum said "A place for MOD Authors to post and receive feedback on MODs still in development. No MODs within this forum should be used within a live environment!". You shouldn't install it when your phpBB and programing knowledge is not enought.

I installed it via AutoMod and then uninstalled it.

I then tried to install the current release version which failed because of the other one having been done before it.

After uninstalling them all, there is bits of code left over that is messing things up.

And FYI this page doesn't appear to have anything about it not being a release:

https://github.com/Pico88/phpBB-Reputation-System

That page makes it just look like an available mod.

@mungbean, do you know what it is the diffrence between develop and master branch on GitHub? Probably not.

What is more, in the first post of that tread, there is a direct link to download current release version and project website. So it is only your fault that you have installed 0.7.0 not my.

I don't care whose fault is what, and I'm not trying to blame you for anything.

Just trying to point out that I didn't find it clear that the available download wasn't released.

And I just want to get this mod working!

I have installed 0.6.3 and enabled but nothing shows up anywhere on the forum.

The overview page page says this (which seems wrong):

MOD Version Check

is up to date

Current Version 0.7.0

Latest Version 0.0.0
