I installed the mod on my main board. I want to move it below the "Recent searches" box and "Top Five" table. How would I do that?

EDIT: I put it at the top of the index page for now

Hi,

The chat position is defined through jQuery selectors. In your case i think that the correct selector is ".forumbg:last" (corresponding to Recent Searchs)
Open: styles/{your style}/template/chat/jchat-options.js
Find:

Code: Select all

		index: {
			top		: ['.forabg:has(.topiclist):first', 'before'],
			bottom	: ['.forabg:has(.topiclist):last', 'after']
		},
Replace with:

Code: Select all

		index: {
			top		: ['.forabg:has(.topiclist):first', 'before'],
			bottom	: ['.forumbg:last', 'after']
		},

Trying to add the chat to the viewforum page (viewforum.php) creates an error that relates to an entirely different mod..

Appears in a pop up:

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Class 'post_count_requirements_core' not found in /home/jesschen/public_html/phpBB3/includes/hooks/post_count_requirements_core.php on line 115
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... 21#p307221

when I remove viewforum.php, the error is gone

@Jessica Try this to solve:
1- Open includes/hooks/hook_post_count_requirements.php
2. Find:

Code: Select all

if (!empty($user->page['page_dir']))
3. Replace with:

Code: Select all

if (!empty($user->page['page_dir']) || !class_exists('post_count_requirements_core'))

Thanks, I'll give that a go and post the results

EDIT: worked! Thanks.

Can you give a list of the options in the ACP, along with permissions for users?

Can't see much from the screenshots. 8-)

Have you considered an auto-responder, sort of like a bot? You always do great work, so I will be keeping up on this mod. bookmarked.

There should be an option for a user to go "Offline" in the chat.
When they go offline, they would disappear from the online list to the right.
When they go back online, they would appear again

I think disconnecting from chat does that....

Hi,
On a testboard i found that if someone hides his online status in the forum he is not listed in the right column of the chat, so he is invisible for normal users. Perhaps because of the general board permissions ?

Hi,

Sure, if a user is invisible on the forum is also invisible in chat. This is controlled with the same permissions to the forum works

Hi,
could this eventually be changed when a user connects to the chat?
Hidden Users in a chat is, at least for my forum, somewhat unusual.

You can remove this limitation with one change:
1. Open chat/includes/functions_ajax.php
2. Find and remove:

Code: Select all

				if(!$this->auth('-u_viewonline') && $user_key != $this->user_key)
				{
					continue;
				}

Awesome work as always! :D

I have 2 small issues:
-When I click on Whois button, it takes too much time loading (2-3 mins)
-When a guest select a name, it will unavailable for anyone else to use that name, but for how long?

Thanks again!

yops wrote:-When I click on Whois button, it takes too much time loading (2-3 mins)
Its possible that the loading time is due to the connection to get the information. The mod uses the same function as phpBB for this, which you should try if from the ACP or any other place also takes the same time to display the information.
yops wrote:-When a guest select a name, it will unavailable for anyone else to use that name, but for how long?
The chat deleted the guests after a day of inactivity. Once deleted, the name becomes available.
