[ABD] phpBB3 - HTML CAPTCHA

Post by ckwalsh »

Please move this when an Olympus MOD forum has been created.

For people that dislike all caps: Yes that is correct, both are acronyms.

MOD Title: HTML CAPTCHA
MOD Description: This MOD takes images generated by the normal CAPTCHA system and converts them to a table with different backgrounds for each cell. These images are generated by cron.php, and are cached on the server to reduce loading time. The size of the generated CAPTCHA easily changed, as well as the number of CAPTCHAs cached. If no CAPTCHAs are available, the standard CAPTCHA system is used. To prevent DOS attacks, there is a lock mechanism that prevents more than a certain number of CAPTCHAs from be generated at the same time, also configurable. As an added bonus, should a bot parse the login page code for the confirmation code in the form and use it to request an image CAPTCHA, the IP will be banned for an hour.
MOD Version: 0.1.0

MOD Download: Here
Last Stable version: 0.1.0

Demo Board: None available

Notes
The configuration in version 0.1.0 cannot be changed from the ACP, it must be modified in the database. I have not made an ACP Module yet.

Hello,

Sorry, but we are not currently allowing the posting of phpBB3.0 MODs at the moment. As you can see these forums are clearly marked for phpBB2.0 MODs only.

An announcement will be made sometime after the release of RC1 when we will allow the posting of phpBB3.0 MODs. Sorry but I now have to lock this.

smithy_dll,
phpBB Modifications Team.

Locked.

Alright, Now I only have one topic :P. Serves me right.

Just to repost stuff:
Quezza wrote:Great idea! I'm gonna install this as soon as I get a chance. It sounds really good!

The RapidShare might not go down so well as lots of people can't use it because of their IP address, but I have a premium account so I'm quite happy with it :)
Brainy wrote:I would have attached it to the post, but attachments aren't allowed in this forum yet (I hope!)

OK, just an update (this sounds like a really good MOD and it is on the last page to BUMP).

I haven't got round to installing this yet, but will try and get it done this weekend.
