Hi Dualfusion.

Looks like it was my mistake and completly unrelated to your mod.

I thought you could run SQL like in phpbb2 where you put the SQL into a database generator which then provides you with a db_update.php file.

Ive been told the database generator is different to whats needed on phpbb3 - so now i go into phpmyadmin and do it.

Works like a charm :)

Thank you :)

One question, is it possible to change the title in the PM subject line?

What do you mean? You can already change the subject line... :?

Thats really weird, it worked for me. Check the screenshot, I think there may be a smiley in that message.

Im not sure why this is so. This may just be a phpBB3 error, and not an error made by this mod. Try reporting it.

There is no easymod, so you have to code it yourself... and I will include an update soon and may include an auto installation for new installs and updating.

Remember, I may means maybe or probably ;) And if I get the chance any time soon.

Code: Select all

SQL query:

INSERT INTO phpbb_config( config_name, config_value )
VALUES (
'wpm_enable', '1'
)
gave me this error

Code: Select all

 MySQL said: Documentation
#1062 - Duplicate entry 'wpm_enable' for key 1
Edit: Finished the install anyways... Got this error

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Duplicate entry 'wpm_enable' for key 1 [1062]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb_config (config_name, config_value, is_dynamic) VALUES ('wpm_enable', 1, 0)

hmm... thats weird, go back to phpmyadmin and into the config table, look for 'wpm_enable' and if it is there, look for the other 'wpm_' rows, if they are all there then it should be ok to run, if only 'wpm_enable' is ther and not the others, run the sql again but with the 'wpm_enable' query, you get me? :?

EDIT:
For the next version, I will add more features, and most likely a "special feature". I will add more dynamic variables like {USER_IP}. I will also implement a new db table, and for the subject to parse the dynamic variables as well.

Think about it hard, I am going to start doing the special feature in a little while, and after that, I am going to update this sucker, and after, there will be no more updates for a while.

And if with this feature, anyone gets an error, then it will be my fault and not your fault this time, ok? ;) Well, most likely :P

And if you are thinking of dynamic variables, phpBB3's user class variables can be found here

I was also thinking of adding:
  • {USER_ID}
    • The user id of the user.
    • May be used along with [url] tag to leave a link to users' profiles.
  • {USER_LANG}
    • Shows which is the language that the user prefered/chose.
  • {USER_TZ}
    • Tells the user what time zone he/she is in
Any more are welcome!! :grin: But remember if it is going to be based on the user class variables found in the link above, remember it is also based on the user's response in the registration form. And it doesnt have to be based on the user class at all, like the {SITE_NAME} and {SITE_DESC}. If you want others, post them, and we'll talk about it here.

And as for the "special feature", it will automatically install the mod or update it if you already have it installed :D
