If you use the phpBB3 template system, there is a {U_LOGIN_LOGOUT} variable you can use. Otherwise, just link to the registration page. That’s out of the realm of support for this MOD though.

All the "Referral" Features are working. The Invitation features will be available in the next release.

I have never added a mod before so you will need to be specific. I want to start learning how to do things for my self and not rely on someone else to do it.
There are several tutorials in the Knowledge base
http://www.phpbb.com/kb on how to install a MODX MOD and how to install MODs.
You can read those.
To install the MOD, simply open the .xml file, it contains installation instructions.

I’m working on finishing the PayPal Donation MOD currently, this one is next on my list after that one is released.
tellusa wrote:Hello Highway of Life, and thank you for investing the time in to building this first Mod, it seems to be a fantastic idea, and obviously a much needed feature.
Thanks for the support.
tellusa wrote:I installed phpBB v3, two days ago, and this referral/invitation was "the" feature I needed; however, what I need is the ability to make a forum completely private, where existing users can invite others to join...
Yes, that’s part of the invitation half of the referral invitation MOD.
tellusa wrote:Basically, the existing users can enter their friends' email address(es) and the system will send each of them an email with a link, where the link cannot be passed on to anyone else, and is meant only for the initial recepient (otherwise, it would be a mess).
You will be able to enter e-mails of friends and it will send them unique invitation keys, these keys are used to allow the user to register on the board.
Again, however... these features are not yet active, yet coming in the next release.
tellusa wrote:2) Clearly identify, which features "are" already included in the download, and which ones "will be" included in the future releases, and keep this list updated. Otherwise, I'm sure there are others like me that have no idea what to look for... if it wasn't for the last item of your instruction (in the install file), it would have taken me more time to know that there is a new text field in the registration form.
It actually should clearly mark which features are available in the MODX file, located in the Author Notes.
tellusa wrote:Basically, all the research and reading through all these posts have "drained" me of pretty much everything, I almost want to throw my laptop out the window

... but I still haven't called you any names
Yikes!! that’s not good.
But you must be commended for reading through all that. Most people won’t even read the first or last page, let alone 2 or 3 pages.
tellusa wrote:Lastly, please let me know if I've done something wrong, and hopefully I'll find out that I've missed something important that could help get my basic requirements of this MOD.
I don’t think so, as long as the Referral functionality is working. That is the user types in the username of the user who referred them, while in the registration page, and it will credit that user with the referral.
It will display the users' referrals in the memberlist and viewprofile.
tellusa wrote:PLEASE tell me that there is more to this MOD than just to add the text field to capture the username of the referral (at least, how to mke this text field a "requied" field).
Yes and No
Yes, there is more to the MOD, but No, it’s not available yet.
At the moment, that pretty much sums up the MOD. -- The features all listed in the first post
will be included in the MOD, but not every one of those features will appear in the first BETA version.
jerryong wrote:Great Mod. other than phpbb3 RC7, Is it Compatible wif Phpbb Version 3.0.0 ?

Yes, it’s not only compatible with 3.0.0, but also 3.0.1-dev.

Looks like not all of the edits were not performed on the prosilver template files.
