Jhong. Thanks for all your help. No problem not though, I've sorted and now works fine on RC4.

Fiorefrank: You mean in the WP admin panel? I haven't tried (I test in linux FF & Epiphany and all is OK). I'll have a look.

simonw: What did you do to get it working?

super3boy, (& simonw):

TBH, there's an easy fix I can offer that will work just fine: hard-coding the auth key.

However, I'm keen to know why it isn't working (only thing I can think of is that the acp/info/wp_united.php file isn't there).

Could you run the following to get some debug info for me?

In wpu-install.php, find the following part:

Code: Select all

	// Adjust auth row if not category
	if ($module_data['module_basename'] && $module_data['module_mode']) {
		$fileinfo = $acp_modules->get_module_infos($module_data['module_basename']);
		$module_data['module_auth'] = $fileinfo[$module_data['module_basename']]['modes'][$module_data['module_mode']]['auth'];
	}
.. and replace it with the following:

Code: Select all

	echo "\n\n" . '$module_data[\'module_auth\'] = ' . $module_data['module_auth'] . "<br /> \n\n";
	// Adjust auth row if not category
	if ($module_data['module_basename'] && $module_data['module_mode']) {
		$fileinfo = $acp_modules->get_module_infos($module_data['module_basename']);
		$module_data['module_auth'] = $fileinfo[$module_data['module_basename']]['modes'][$module_data['module_mode']]['auth'];
		echo "\n\n<br /><br /><hr />\n\n";
		print_r($fileinfo);
		echo "\n\n<br /><br /><hr />\n\n";
		echo 'module_data[\'module_auth\'] = $fileinfo[$module_data[\'module_basename\']][\'modes\'][$module_data[\'module_mode\']][\'auth\']' . "<br />\n\n";
		echo '		= $fileinfo[' . $module_data['module_basename'] . '][\'modes\'][' . $module_data['module_mode'] . '][\'auth\']' . "<br />\n\n";
		echo '		= ' .  $fileinfo[$module_data['module_basename']]['modes'][$module_data['module_mode']]['auth'] . "<br />\n\n";
	}
Ensure wp-united is completely uninstalled, then run the install script.

Then could you copy-paste the output into a code block?

Thanks!

Wordpress MUdification: phpBB and Wordpress MU integration

Post by jasonago »

Hello there! I have created a mod that integrates phpbb and wordpress mu together. Please visit this link: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 6&t=574617

Take note that WP-united and Wordpress MUdification has a different codebase. Although inspired from WP-United, the Wordpress MUdification was coded from scratch.

I would like to extend my gratitude to Jhong, the author of WP-United because from his works I learn how to create plugins by example! Thanks Thanks.

um i am thinking in installing wordpress onto my site
i got a few questions

1 - my site currently has its own template
i dont want the WP template at all
can i easily customize the template to make it look like my current one
or do i have 2 use a template that WP provides?

2 - i dont want WP or phpbb3 inside one another, can i keep them separate?

I have multiple WP installations all pointing to one set of forums. Each WP is on a different subdomain / dB. What I am looking for is a WP Plugin that can post a news item to a PHPBB forum at the same time as posting to the blog - then linking back to the topic for all discussions.

Can this mod achieve this or is there another solution?

HI, Thanks Jhong for making this great mod !

I got a problem in Step 5 of installation :oops:

It displays these error:

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /wp-united/wp-integration-class.php on line 145: Undefined variable: userdata
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /wp-united/wp-integration-class.php on line 154: Undefined variable: userdata
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acp/acp_wp_united.php(2808) : eval()'d code on line 23: Constant ABSPATH already defined
I have tried to reinstall phpbb3 RC4 and WordPress 2.2.2, but still can't fix the problem... :cry:

Anyone can help .. Thank you very much! :D

Hi everyone. Sorry for not checking in often enough. I have a new phpBB3 version (v0.6) ready -- it has been brewing for a while. Just need to sit down and put the final touches on it. It will include the ability to automatically cross-post from WordPress to the forums.

Regarding wpMU -- thanks Jason for posting that. I'm keen to eye up the major differences and eventually, given enough time, allow wpMU compatibility for phpBB3. Right now all the RC phpBB3 releases are really beginning to wear thin though -- so I'm focussing on ironing out bugs and improving performance. first.

OK, working backwards:

mikeabc: Those notices are nothing to worry about on their own. Does WP-United install and work OK? If so, don't worry about them.

fofr: Not with the current release, but v0.6 will allow you to send blog posts to the forums. Will convert HTML to BBCode, and create a post excerpt with info such as categories, and a link back to the blog post. Comments are not currently cross-posted -- that will be added later (working step by step to avoid show-stopper bugs).

Jazzking: #1 really depends on your template -- you will need to adapt an existing WordPress template to get what you want. For #2, sure, you can choose all of these options at setup time.

Fiorefrank: Let me know how it goes :-)
