Re: [RC1] WP-United: WordPress Integration (NEW v0.7.1 12/06/09)

Post by thomamon » Tue Jul 14, 2009 5:04 am

Have a problem, have it installed. But I have a blog that is cross posted, but when you click on the link that says "Comment on this post in our forums", the link is not correct. For some reason, the /phpbb is in there twice like this:

http://oldschool.ootphost.com/phpbb/php ... hp?f=2&t=8

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello,

Yes, this is a known bug. I hope to fix it in the next version.

I don't think the mod likes the new version of Wordpress. I upgraded and the wordpress part of my site no longer worked. Luckily I had just backed up.

Just trying out the widgets and they're awesome - especially the log in one, but I'm having a little trouble

The links for Register and I Forgot... are correct (i.e. /forum/ucp.php?mode=register) but the log in one adds this funny &sid=blahblahblah code which causes it not to work (403 error)

See for yourself, hover over Login at
http://www.fmuk.org.uk/

Still keeping it anyway because it looks awesome when you're already logged in :)

Just a quick question. I have my forum set up as a subdomain (http://forum.starwarsnexus.net) I'd like to install Word Press on the main domain (http://www.starwarsnexus.net), and integrate the forum and the word press. However, I don't want the word press showing up in my forum header and footer. I also want my members to have their own blogs. Can this be done?

I have a similar question as the above post...

My forum is located on my domain domain.com, but I want the blogs to be as a sub-domain blog.domain.com and I would like to use this union tool to integrate the wordpress inside of phpBB... is that possible? I think the first post said this is not possible, but features could have changed after a number of releases and that could have being forgotten to be changed... that post is quite long

Thanks for this great MOD...

Well, I answered my own question just by doing it. I have it set up as I wanted it, but I can't find where to alter the width of the word press and how have the word press look like my forum theme(s). Let me rephrase that: I can't figure out how to have the blog appear in my phpbb without the blog's header and footer showing up.

So you can do that... does the WP-United package come with the Wordpress or do I have to have wordpress up and running before I can use WP-United integration package?

Bogey, you have to install the word press first, then configure your settings, then you can add this mod. I just took my time in doing it, but I managed to get it integrated without any problems :)

You're welcome!

I'm getting an error if I try to preview a theme for my word press. The error reads:
Fatal error: Call to a member function assign_vars() on a non-object in /home/xxxx/xxxx/forum/wp-united/wordpress-entry-point.php on line 236

That line reads $template->assign_vars ... right?

Make sure that $template is initiated before that line.

And it works with wordpress 2.8.3, right? That is what I am planning to use.
