How about adding the ability to use this in existing posts via "edit"? Many moderator actions, like warnings, occur in a member's post. It would be less confusing if the warning was issued in the actual post and not in a quoted separate reply.

i couldn't get it all functioning.
SQL errors when setting certain presets and trying to post them. I don't think the developer has any plans to continue development either. shame, i could really use this.

Yes, this was really a nice MOD... I had a somewhat similar "Canned Messages MOD" for phpBB 2 and it helped a lot.

Perhaps someone could continue the project?

I know this mod is mostly dead, but as a record of feature requests and bug reports:
  • [BUG] {comment} doesn't work, only {COMMENT} seems to work (at least in PM)
  • [Major request] Add a post review to the comment page so that you know where your comment is going if you have forgotten what you originally wrote :)
  • Rather than have a {COMMENT} section be the only editable thing, can you make it so that the entire post is editable but pre-populated with canned content.
    • For example, if I want to say "you will find the support desk at mydomain.com/help" be canned but be able to add lots of stuff around that.
  • Don't make {COMMENT} be in a quote. have {QUOTE} be a quote and {COMMENT} simply be an inline comment. For example, I might want to write:
You have been warned {COMMENT} times and when you said {QUOTE} in the {COMMENT} thread it put you over the top, you have now been banned.
but right now, I think you can only have one {COMMENT} and it says COMMENT and enters it in a quote box which looks a bit silly if you ask me :)
  • Add the ability to tag a thread without doing an action (i.e. you don't have to lock the thread to tag with [closed]) - just add the tag field to the "create response" page
  • Change the mod-can list title from the subject (which you currently use) to a descriptive private note. I want to be able to call the action "help page - moron" and "help page - smart" but not have that be the subject of my post (for obvious reasons).
  • Add the ability to chain actions. I.e. Lock thread then PM user - I'm lazy and don't want to have to go to the profile page to warn someone I've locked their thread each time, I want the can to do the PMing for me :)
  • AJAX the PM thing so that I can send a canned PM from the page I am currently viewing.
