Running SVN is a unsupported way, I often checkin broken bits of code and ideas. So its 100% possible that currently images are not uploading in the SVN version. My current focus is on the new installer, upgrader & converter. All of which are being tested from SVN by some people and are making good progress.

I suggest waiting till the next beta which should be soon for any more bug reports other than those on the installer and converter. I do apperciate them though, its just at this moment I am not focus on general bugs.

Is there any way this MOD could be used as a stand alone? (No phpBB3 used) If so I'd like to run it separate from my forums.

image uploading is not working on the current beta on phpbb3 gold either

after doing some investigating, ive found that you are using $HTTP_POST_FILES instead of $_FILES and also $HTTP_POST_VARS instead of $_VARS, so if all instances are changed respectively image uploads then work :D

Did you change it on your forum to see if it worked correctly?

Thanks I will look into that as it working OK for me. A few people have now tested the converter and generally its working pretty well. So I will be wrapping up a beta release in the next week that includes it.

What is the chances of trying out what you have now? It looks like some stiff competition to your MOD is building and I'd personally like to get it on my site before I start seeing my members start posting links to their garage on that site!

About a week ago someone registered on my site and the first thing he did was add a line saying get your free online garage or something to that effect with a link to his site in his signature file. He also had a link to a personal garage he had setup on it. Now... Its bad enough users not using the forum uploader and always posting links to their pictures on photo bucket and other sites, but now there will probably be links to that garage site.

I deleted his signature and warned him about posting it again because as far as I'm concerned it is competition to my site (or will be if I ever get a garage on it). I got a PM from the guy wanting to know why I deleted his signature and I told him why and then I got the crap about both of us needing each other to promote our sites. He said his new site is only 4 months old and already has a Alexa rank of 1.4 million. I added his website to the Word censor to prevent new links from showing up. As far as I'm concerned the guy is just another SPAMmer. He is trying to do with that site like MySpace has done with people.

The way I see it is if I use the MOD to attract more donations by only allowing supporting members to use it then his site would likely undermine that and less donations I get means the less donations I pass on to you.

You can always try out the latest with my SVN repo on sourceforge.

I am not in competition with anyone/product. I make the MOD for my own site and for my own learning and enjoyment. If anyone produces a version earlier than me good for them. I know my own code inside out and its the only one I will use.

The converter has been tested and found to largely working and that is one of the last big items. I also hired a CSS programmer who has just returned there work to me. So thats another big step forward. In the next 2 weeks I fully expect a new useable beta. But usable as in for testing. You should wait for RC stage to use live.

Sorry... I wasn't meaning to come off like an AH. I also didn't mean to try and push you toward getting a stable release. I was just trying to find out if there was something in the works that could be used live now.

I'd like to setup another test board and try the garage in a closed setting and use my moderators and maybe a few choice members to get a feel for it before the stable release comes out. I don't want any hitches when its time to go live with it on my main forums. I'm all for supporting the cause as you may or may not have discovered yet.

The site I was talking about doesn't appear to be a MOD, but a stand alone. It really torques my drawers though when someone breezes through my forums and posts a few strategicly placed messages in the forums with the intent of wrangling my members to their site. (especially when it is in competition to my site) I don't do that and don't like anyone doing it to me.

David,

No problem. I was not thinking you were a AH :D

I had hoped to have the beta out by now, but getting the CSS work back has taken a bit of time to try use, it was not 100% prefect. Also had a few work/family items to deal with but the next beta is close. If you use the SVN converter you will see its all coming together now.

I've tried to get the latest off of sourceforge, but keep getting a dead link when I try to get to it. I have a test board setup which is closed and as soon as I can get a copy of the latest Garage I'll try my hand at installing it and then get some of my moderators to help me test it. Could you post a link to the latest version or maybe PM me the link?
