That's another typo. Take language/en/acp/forums.php.

Thanks a lot :)

I installed the mod and seems to be working because I get data stored on the DB but I can not find a way to access it on the board. I changed "can view topic tracker" to yes on the moderative permissions and made sure I have moderator permissions for the tracked forum but still no icon to access the mod :(

Well, I was looking for the footsteps icon described in the first page but I found the tracking tool was on the quick-mod tools.
The mod seems to work fine and IMHO the most important issue with it is the install.txt should be clearer (without typo errors) and provide more info (like some clear directions on configuration after install).

Thanks for a great mod anyway :)

Thanks Wolfgang for your mods, and finally cracked it!

I needed to manually clear the cache and everything started working properly. (Doing clear cache from the styles page was not good enough).

BTW, heavy use (700 users / day) of the last version presented slowdowns on the forum, I cured this by adding an index to the $prefix_topic_view table:

$prefix is your table prefix, normally this is phpbb change it accordingly.

alter table $prefix_topic_tracker add index idx_all (topic_id,user_id,view_time,last_ip);

Not the most elegant index but certainly very good at keeping the queries below 0.09 seconds

Hi,
the install.txt should be clearer and provide more info (like some clear directions on configuration after install).
I am quite ok, the MOD is not very well explained , I always seeks the way to access it on the board.

Can you put some screenshot (clear and precise)

Thanks

Hi Melvine,

go to the topic's URL and near the bottom of the page you will see the dropdown menu for quick moderation. There you will find a new entry. :)

Purge the cache, purge the cache of your template, did you alter the viewtopic_body.html files for all of your styles, did you upload the files to the correct folders?
Do you have the right to view the topic tracker?
Is topic tracker activated in the forum you tried it?
If all answers are yes, please go and double check your installation.

Good luck!
Wolfgang

I tried this 2 times but its not working
I also tried the changes, wolfgang postet, but there is no entry in the mod sheet, and also no entry in the Moderation pulldown.

I'm using an german language and i've changed the language folder from en to de.
Im realy shure, I've done the install notes corectly.

Does anybody have an idea what can be?

Thanks
CADwiesel

I have the same problem like CADwiesel! I tried now one hour to get this mod run... checked the edits 3 times, reinstalled 3 times and nothing happened! Maybe this mod don't work at phpbb 3.0.2?!

I tried to run "http://www.domain.com/topic_view_tracker.php?t=...", but I got only the message, that I don't have enough permission - in the database were the topic views correctly tracked.

I activated the mod in all categories/forums and gave the permission to all moderators...

I'm sure that I didn't make a mistake in the edits... I had never before such problems to install a mod...

By the way: I also changed the language folder from en to de - but I think, it isn't the reason!

I assume that this is the last mod, you have installed? So this may be a problem with a double entry in the acl_options table, which I had too sometime ago. The effect was, that always the last added mod acl options did not work. This happens if you execute some install scripts more than once.

You can list all the entries you have with

Code: Select all

SELECT * FROM `phpbb_acl_options` WHERE 1 order by `auth_option`
and check if any there are entries that are twice in there. You then can delete one of the double entries and it should work, but be careful and make a backup before playing with the database or better, test this on a local copy of your board.

@Nicole86:

Regarding your permission problem: Have you tried this?
