Hello,

is there anyone with an idea to get the "message"-sounds from chat in FireFox 3 ??? They're always working in all Browsers except the FF3. Could this belongs to the javascript-code for the sound in the chat.js (lines 579 'til 696)???? I don't know what to change for working in FF3.

Thnx a lot

.
Integrating your chat to your mainpage in phpBB3 depends on the used style. For a good explanation look http://ajax-chat.wiki.sourceforge.net/C ... tion+howto

Use only for registered users change

Code: Select all

// Enable/Disable guest logins:
$config['allowGuestLogins'] = true;
// Enable/Disable write access for guest users - if disabled, guest users may not write messages:
$config['allowGuestWrite'] = true;
// Allow/Disallow guest users to choose their own userName:
$config['allowGuestUserName'] = true;
these values in the lib/config.php from true to false.
I've made all of these things and they work fine!

Hope I could help you

@siveriano

Sorry, I didn't give you the whole solution for including the Chat into your board.
If you understand german, there's an excellent explanation on the german phpbb.de- Board in this article:
http://www.phpbb.de/viewtopic.php?p=965993#965993 from the user 4seven. Or take this from the author: http://ajax-chat.wiki.sourceforge.net/p ... chat+users
It works exactly as he describes.

See chat.sql or run these SQL commands by using phpMyAdmin or similar app ::

Code: Select all

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS ajax_chat_online;
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS ajax_chat_messages;
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS ajax_chat_bans;
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS ajax_chat_invitations;

satandream,
if you will check out the last link given by mcdiver, in above posts
you will find the active Sourceforge forum where the actual official support is given.
Its very much "still in progress"

do you mean showing the chatbox at the top of the forums? Either put it in overall_header.html or put it right after the include for it in index.php.
