Re: [RC] AJAX Chat

Post by Craig Snyder » Mon Sep 29, 2008 7:54 am

Alright, I got opening/closing to work, thanks for the help... Now...

I want to disable the (quote), (code), and (img) tag functions from my chat. I understand how to delete them from the actual template, but I do not know how to get the actual tags to stop converting and working. Can someone help me?

Also...

Code: Select all

		// Defines if line breaks are enabled:
		lineBreaks: false,
Even with this, line breaks still work. How can I fix this?

Make sure you purged the file cache of your browser after script config changes. Already done?
Just take a look at your current user settings while running AJAX Chat through the browser.

In my view, each <br/> is going to be a white-space
using this config setting (lineBreaks: false)

Btw, I've found a minor issue at this point :: <br/> should be <br />

Open chat/js/config.js in your text editor and then find/edit this code or array.

Code: Select all

	// Defines the list of allowed BBCodes:
	bbCodeTags: new Array(
		'b',
		'i',
		'u',
		'quote',
		'code',
		'color',
		'url',
		'img'
	),
Hope it helps.

I did do this and still the codes appear to work.

Well... either way, this only helps me, and not my forum members. They'd also have to purge their cache for things to show up 'normal?'

Yeah but for any reason, it didn't work correctly on our test board! I tried with

Code: Select all

[quote=author]Test[/quote]
EDIT: In order to remove BBCode tags that are not allowed somehow,
open chat/js/chat.js in your text editor and then find/replace

Code: Select all

		// Only replace predefined BBCode tags:
		if(!ajaxChat.inArray(ajaxChat.bbCodeTags, p1)) {
			return str;
		}
with

Code: Select all

		// Only replace predefined BBCode tags:
		if(!ajaxChat.inArray(ajaxChat.bbCodeTags, p1)) {
			return p3;
		}
That did the trick on mine as the content will stay intact! Hope it helps someone else.

I am having a problem getting it integrated into my forums. I can access the chat itself but I can not get it to integrate into the forums as a shoutbox. I am using the codeblack style and the only thing I can see that is different is in the stylesheet for the style. Instead of it being <div id="page-footer"> its <div id="wrapfooter"> That is the only thing I can see different. Any ideas?

Well! Therefore, you would have to do some file changes, depending on
how many chat styles are currently in use, but I think it's possible.

Create a new phpBB3 group called VIP (if not already exists)
and then find and post its Group ID 'cause we need it.

That's all for now, more later.

Is anyone else having the problem (and hopefully the solution) for the login/logout problem? Some users (not all) log in, and directly or after 10-20 seconds get logged out...On the forum of the developper are more people having this problem, but no solution.
