Not sure what you mean :/ Are you searching for a switch to allow/disallow chatbot messages?

Um, the only option you could change is called showChannelMessages. Take a look
into the template file shoutbox.html. That value should be false by default ::

Code: Select all

		ajaxChatConfig.showChannelMessages = false;

Just follow these tutorials ::

http://ajax-chat.wiki.sourceforge.net/p ... chat+users
http://ajax-chat.wiki.sourceforge.net/p ... ntegration

or adapt that stuff to fit your needs if it's not exactly what you want. :)

i have a very curious issue and i'm not sure where the problem stems from...

i installed the chat (can't get it integrated to my forum still, but i've given up on that anyway now as i'm just making it it's own page) it all wors fine, btu something's gone wrong with the layout somewhere

when i was first using it, it looked fine for me and everyone else using it, now, thoguh, and thsi is where i'm totally lost, it still does for me, but not for anyone else??

this is my printscreen
Image

and this is an example of it being wrong

it used to look like that with everyone, but now everyone bar me is gettin the bad layout!?!?

Hi there,

I hope someone may be able to help with a query. I have installed Ajax chat on a forum I run. All works fine for unregistered users however if a registered user logs in to chat with their username and password then all seems to go well, they are firstly directed to the login successful page and then this redirects to the chat page. This is where the problem is as it immediatly logs you out and returns you to the chat login page.

I have searched for a similar problem on here and not managed to find the same issue so I thought best to ask before I start messing around with too many settings.

Any ideas welcome, thanks.

Is there a way I can disable the shoutbox from showing as people as entering the chat? For example, when people load the shoutbox, it shows they enter the chat. I only want them to be shown as entering when they click the actual chat link and use the whole chat itself, not the shoutbox.

No, as to the chat view, there's no option available to hide shoutbox related channel messages only.
Either showing all or nothing, it's your call! Just make a choice.

EDIT: Another way or workaround is to give that shoutbox an own channel :idea: but not tested yet :/

Is there a way I can make it so someone has to put in at least a user name? Currently they can just hit enter and have a 923432 name which is annoying

or force registered users only?

*Edit*

Also, any way to remove the smilies and text changing features? Or move them/hide them?

Are there any bots for it like if we type ! or is there a way I can add one of those?

Many thanks again !
I will try to make mysel clear:
in full chat there a "user" called chatBot witch makes posts abut events
for example, it says: katib has eneted the chat, easygo ;) lefted the chat... etc
but in the integrated shoutbox this chatBot seems unavailable !!!

Yeah, I guess sometimes I have to quote myself, especially when something goes missing there. :?

Replace false with true and all should be fine for you.
