Code: Select all

echo "<tr><td>&nbsp;<a href='{$topic_link}'><span style="color:black;">{$topics[$i]['topic_title']}</span></a></td></tr>";
If that doesn't work then you will need to create a css to change the link colour like so:

Code: Select all

a {color:black;}
Think that should do it.

Hello !
This mod is excellent...but i would like :
1/ To show only recent post (not topic), Poster Name, Post Date and number of replies (something like topic_anywhere for phpbb2)
2/ Parse attachments when showing the post
Any idea ?
Thanks !

I am using this mod to post the most recent updated topics from my forum onto the main page of my site. I altered the code to this:

Code: Select all

'ORDER_BY'   => "topic_last_post_id DESC"
from the topic_bottom.php file

to get the most recent updated posts instead of just the most recent new topics.

Currently it still shows the initial date that the post was created instead of the current date that the post was updated.

What do I need to change to reflect the date of the most recent post in the topic?

the code I am assuming I need to change is this but i am not sure what the variable might be?

Code: Select all

echo "<a href='{$topic_link}'>{$topics[$i]['topic_title']}</a> by {$post['username']}</strong> on {$topics[$i]['topic_time']}</strong><br /><br />	";
from the topic_look.php file

you can see example of current mod at MaximumDirt.com showing most recent updated topics but showing original topic post date instead of more recent updated post date.

version of mod in use is 0.2.3

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any idea why a headline will not be called in randomly? Please check plumaslakelife.com to see this problem. I am pulling the topic headline but then the script will forget to pull a headline even though the link to the headline is still being called in.

I have enabled php include in the forum acp so i can embed php scripts into html files.... overall_header.html

The following codes should be working becuase i have other scripts linked this way,

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDEPHP topic_top.php -->

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDEPHP topic_bottom.php -->
after testing, nothing showed up.

I tried the samething with the tetest.php file but only the following section was displayed----> Test news below, the actual topics weren't.

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDEPHP tetest.php -->
the overall_header directs to my index.php homepage, just thought you may need to know this.

Can anyone help please

Hello this mod is exactly what i been looking for. Tried a few others but i didnt fully agree with them probably because i cant write any code like this at all. This was easy to customize to worl with my website. I got 1 problem that i havnt been able to fix yet. I dont get the actual date in date line. I get "Mon Feb 10:24" for example not "Mon Feb 1 10:24". I dont like datecode someone help me get correct code for that?

Code: Select all

$topics[$i]['topic_time'] = strftime("%a %e %b %H:%M",$topics[$i]['topic_time']);
Could it be that my server dosnt support the datecode?

Can this mod work as html using php include functions....

Original tetest.php below

Code: Select all

<?php include('./phpbb3/topic_top.php'); ?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
Test news below<br />
<?php include('./phpbb3/topic_bottom.php'); ?>
</body>
</html>
i converted the tetest.php to tetest.html but the topics weren't displayed....

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE ./phpbb3/topic_top.php -->
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
Test news below<br />
<!-- INCLUDE ./phpbb3/topic_bottom.php -->
</body>
</html>
can someone help please

First of all - Thankyou so much for this MOD! It's perfect!

It works perfect for me, but I have a problem including it to my forumindex.

my tetest.php file is located at the following adress (in my root folder of my forum):
http://www.skim.se/tetest.php

I want to include it into this template (start_body.html):
http://www.skim.se/styles/prosilver/tem ... _body.html

start_body.html consists of this code:

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html -->

<table>
<tr>
<td><!-- INCLUDEPHP tetest.php --></td>
</tr>
</table>

<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->
But when I run this code nothing shows up but an empty page. As you can see the tetest.php works by it self, but when I include it, nothing works.

Please help!

First why include tetest.php? That is an examplefile.

In top of the page you want it add

Code: Select all

<?php include('topic_top.php'); ?>
Then add

Code: Select all

<?php include('topic_bottom.php'); ?>
where you want the news to turn up.

Last you need to get all paths correct.

example

Code: Select all

<?php include('folder/folder2/topic_bottom.php'); ?>
dont forget to give the correct path in the config file.

I have already tried that but is doen't work, all the files are located in my forum folder and i have used the include function to my overall_header file as listed below.....i know i have everything setup correctly.

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path = './../../../';

Code: Select all

<?php include('./../../../topic_top.php'); ?>

Code: Select all

<?php include('./../../../topic_bottom.php'); ?>
