Hello mix1

I want to test your mod. However my website is in joomla. I included the

Code: Select all

<?php include('./testphpbb/phpbb3/topic_top.php'); ?>
above everything else in the specific index.php file of the website's template (this is where it should be put) and this bit went ok. Now for joomla there is a specific php module that executes php code and displays it wherever you set it to display. But when I put the

Code: Select all

<?php include('./testphpbb/phpbb3/topic_bottom.php'); ?>
in the module, I got this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function sql_build_query() on a non-object in /home/astro3/public_html/testphpbb/phpBB3/topic_bottom.php on line 47

The paths are correct and the necessary files are uploaded. What could be the problem?

Id like to start with saying this is a outstanding mod :)

Quick question

As you can see in the first pic, i have managed to get it fully working,

Image

Is it possible to get each topic to show from within a table, each in serperate cells like the following pic ?

Yes, you merely have to change the output HTML to contain the table row & data construct with the table definition happening and concluding before and after.

Assuming you're just doing topics...

In "topic_look" change:
echo "<a href='{$topic_link}'>{$topics[$i]['topic_title']}</a><br />";
to
echo "<tr><td><a href='{$topic_link}'>{$topics[$i]['topic_title']}</a></td></tr>";

In your HTML/PHP page calling TE, do this:
<table>
<?php include('./phpbb3/topic_bottom.php'); ?>
</table>

Dress up the tr, td, and table tags as you need.

/drycoded but it should work.

Be easier to see with the URL but as far as speculation is concerned, I'd guess you either added additional row/data definitions before the call or there's a null-line being generated by topic_bottom. Try inserting a char string (e.g., ==>) in front of the anchor tag (e.g., ...><td>==><a href...) and see if you see a "==>" in that top row, if so you're not getting data out of topic_bottom. If not, ensure that only the <table> tag itself is declared, not a table row or table data (<tr><td></td>) before or after topic_bottom.
