Nice to hear that there will be an update soon :) Thanks I will wait then to install directly new version :D

Hi there,

The mod is fine and extremely useful however I have a problem with backup and restore.

The PHPBB3 RC4 backup works fine but when restoring from a previous backup file, I always get a SQL syntax error which says:
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'index, user_id, user_ip, allow_viewonline, last_visit) VALUES (3, 2, '127.0.0.1'' at line 1 [1064]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb3_visitors_today (index, user_id, user_ip, allow_viewonline, last_visit) VALUES (3, 2, '127.0.0.1', 1, 1186730833)

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/mysqli.php
LINE: 118
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: includes/acp/acp_database.php
LINE: 317
CALL: dbal_mysqli->sql_query()

FILE: includes/functions_module.php
LINE: 463
CALL: acp_database->main()

FILE: adm/index.php
LINE: 74
CALL: p_master->load_active()
This is on a clean RC4 test installation.

Please help

TIA

Hi,

are you talking about backing up and restoring the database? If yes, it might be, that Olympus doesn't backup additional tables (that has been a problem in phpBB-2 already).

If that's true use http://www.mysqldumper.de/en/ instead of Olympus' database backup & restore function.

i can also vouch that mysqldumper will bu your database (full) WITH the visitor's today mod installed - NO problem! Grab it! it's free and works like a charm... (mysqldumper)

@tjsl:

Did the MOD work fine before you restored the database? How old was the backup? Please look at your database with phpMyAdmin and tell us if the tables and fields from the Visitors Today MOD exist in the database or not.

Thank you for your kind responses.

Yes, I am talking about backing up and restoring the complete PHPBB3 database and the backup file is fresh. Fresh like I do a backup and that restore it right away.

The mod works fine before and after the failed restore, just that I lost the previous visitors, no big deal.

Looks to me that Olympus did backuped the visitors_today table but cannot restore it.

Can't get mysqldumper to install:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function extractValue() in E:\localhost\www\mysqldumper\install.php on line 148

When I view the visitor today as registered I see:

Code: Select all

In total there were 1 users online :: 1 registered users
(This data based on users active since 10 Aug 2007 20:56)
The most ever members to visit in one day was 1 on Friday August 10th, 2007
But when viewed as a guest I see:

Code: Select all

In total there were 0 users online :: 0 registered users
(This data based on users active since 10 Aug 2007 20:56)
The most ever members to visit in one day was 1 on Friday August 10th, 2007

Is that a bug or something else?

Apparently in the settings in the ACP, you have it to show only the registered users. If no registered users are logged in, the count will be 0. Or is it that it shows "In total there were 0 users online :: 0 registered users" after you logged in then back out?

Where do I set "show to guests" in the ACP?

Another thing that this

Code: Select all

In total there was 1 user online :: 1 registered user
(This data based on users active since 11 Aug 2007 15:24)
The most ever members to visit in one day was 1 on Friday August 10th, 2007

Registered Visitors : saz3rX
the numbers are not changing. I have got more than 1 user online on 11 Aug but its not increasing :?

Is that a DB problem or what?

The mod works just fine for me on RC4 using prosilver/subsilver2 and another style based on subsilver 2. 8-)

Sorry, extremely busy around here as my 2 step-children are returning to SD, CA (one for a visit) tomorow and have of yet, been unable to get any time to work on this mod.

As for it not being RC4 compatable, If it's simply a style issue, and you are using a style other then prosilver, or subsilver2, or a style non-prosilver/subsilver2 based then I will offer little to no support as the fault most obviously lies in your inablility to located and edit the appropriate template. And you should seek help with either the author of the style, or perhaps in the phpBB styling section.

I will however offer support for prosilver & subsilver2 related style problems involving this mod, and of course, any rc4 related code issues (upon the next update release of course, as I haven't even had the time to update my development board to rc4).
