Another good option would be when the challenging team makes a challenge then the challenged team gets to input 2 dates and times for the match, then the challenging team picks one of the match dates & time. Then a map for the match will be auto generated from a "list of map names" that you inputed in when (you the admin) created the ladder.

You gotta join a sub-ladder, not a ladder. This is your problem here :).

Then shouldn't that option not be available? Some how disable that availability of picking main ladders and only allow sub ladders to be picked?

Another thing I found is that I can not find anyway for other teams to view who have signed up for a tournament. Are you only able to see once the tournament starts or something? It would be good to be able to see who is signed up for tournaments so the other team can do back ground checks on the other members playing in the tournament prior to the actual tournament start.

The ladders also need option available in the ACP for the availability of choosing how many rungs a team can challenge up, if teams can challenge other teams under them, etc.

Just some ideas for you ..... I have a huge list of things that can be added to both the tournaments and ladder systems to make this mod just what everyone has been looking to get for so long .....

Thank you again for your time working on this mod and sticking with it. If you would some more input on features then let me know, maybe we can work together on the side perfecting this thing. I have played in many of online gaming sites and our team help 1st in a majority of them, so I have been in the online competition seen for awhile and know what things are need for a mod like this. Like I said before, some graphics added to this mod would also top the list and I can help you in that field too if you would like. I'm just trying to help you keep this thing alive as long as possible and to help perfect it to its fullest potential if that is something you intend to do with this mod. Thx again.

Please let me know if there anything I can help out with, feel free to PM me.

It should be disabled. If your using IE, this would be why its not (because IE is garbage :)).

You click on the tournament name in Tournaments. It will list the clans signed up so far.

Useless to do. I used to have this option but it was just useless code since clans can accept or deny challenges they can easily see if the clan is better then they are and choose to accept to deny.

Thanks. :)

Yes I use both FF and IE ... should be a way to disbale it for both. seeing as not everyone uses FF.

Thats my point tho, there should be a option to disable the avaliablity of denying matches, if they dont except the match then they get a loss and the challenger takes there rung and the challenged team that denied the match moves down a rung. Also the option to not allow teams to challenge under there current rank would be nice, only allow teams to challenge up. Then that is were the "how many rungs a team can challenge up" comes in. That way a team that is ranked 20th cant challenge for 1st place with out working there way up, say 5 rungs at a time. Like I said I have been doing the online gaming competition stuff for years now and these are things they use in there ladders. They were just ideas to help you better this mod. ;)

I posted 2 fixes for this on this page
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p4743435

Could also have standard phpbb style error pages for things. For example, if you select a main ladder instead of a sub ladder, it should return a error page with a return to pre button saying "That is not a valid ladder, please select a valid ladder" or something to that effect.. Anything would be better then letting it throw out php and mysql errors..

Fixed a lot of things the past few days. Been testing a lot. I tested all the sections (CCP, ACP, Ladders & Tournaments). I can now find no bugs or problems (that however doesn't mean they are not there ;)).

So for now, I am marking Rivals as stable because I can't find anything else wrong :). If you find something, please let me know. If no major bugs are reported within a week, I'll submit it to the MODDB for review.

New download link on the first post.

Thanks.

Yeah I will add-on things after, I just want this at a stable state before that happens which it seems to be so far.

Thanks.

From what i tested so far, none of the queries work on pgsql ( after converting the sql queries for creation of the tables ). For example :

acp_addplatform.php :

Code: Select all

$sql	= 'INSERT INTO ' . PLATFORMS_TABLE . ' (platform_id, platform_name) VALUES (NULL, "' . $http_vars[ 'plat_name' ] . '")';
It should be :

Code: Select all

$sql= "INSERT INTO " . PLATFORMS_TABLE . " (platform_name) VALUES ('".$http_vars[ 'plat_name' ]."')";
I will work on converting all the db calls to work on both mysql and pgsql and if anyone is interested ill submit them back for everyone to use.

thanks again for being so quick about updating and fixing everything, just had a quick question about the features, since there really is no doc or guide, i was wondering what the ladder, sub-ladder representation

can you give me an example of how a ladder/subladder is supposed to look like? maybe example with starcraft :mrgreen:

oh btw i did find an error,
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /rivals/ccp_addchallenge.php on line 40: mktime() expects parameter 4 to be long, string given
this was when i attempted to make a challenge to someone

and this error
