Hello CrimsonThunder,
In your template edits, depending on which style you are using, Just remove this line of code.

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN --><strong>{L_WELCOME_WELBACK}</strong> {U_WELCOME_NAME}, <!-- ENDIF -->

CrimsonThunder,
Sorry, I thought you wanted ONLY to show the random message to the guests only. I guess I mis-understood what you said.

As far as anyone having problems with this mod from upgrading to RC6, it seems that even the auto update method broke the mod. I had at least 5 mods that affected Functions.php and were all broken. I had to upload a fresh RC6 functions.php file and reinstall all my mods. It appears that all my mods got stripped out of that file. Go figure.

The welcome mod STILL works as long as you rework the code in functions.php or do what I did. The installation instructions are still good to go for RC6.

Thanks for the info Stitch! And I'm thinking to make it not show for registered users is a peice of code that you use, its often used for guests and bots, but I don't know what it is. :P Do you know? ;P

Hi CrimsonThunder,

If you only want the message to show for guests, you would use

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
before the message code. Don't forget to add your

Code: Select all

<!-- ENDIF -->
at the end.

Well, I Would like to. I just need to come up with an idea for a mod. Something simple because I am limited with my coding abilities. :oops:

Haha. :P Well you could always fix up mods that have been abandoned, can I suggest this one? link All that needs to be fixed is so that it views in the topics. :)

And RWZ, it sure is. :)

I just tested it on RC7, the result was a white screen...
must be something from the includes/functions.php ?

Thanks for the update pat :D

I myself have not tested this mod on RC7 as of yet. I will hopefully this weekend though. In the mean time medigeek, make sure all your edits are correct in functions.php.
