this is fantastic news. :D im so happy you've decided to recode what is an awesome mod for phpBB2. Image it plays a big part now in our automotive club events/meets.

one thing i would like to suggest. can we have the option to turn 'confirmation' off. all we need is names. no one actually clicks for a second time on our forum. i can see how some other forums/people would find this useful though.

Yep, i've read this suggestion a few times, so there will be a function to switch the confirmation off. I'm not sure if it is useful to do this per registration event or per admin panel (generally switch off). What do you think?

what if the check box 'default' state was editable in admin? so forums that would use it more would have confirmation 'on' as default, but others could have it 'off' by default?

best of both worlds! ;)

Fantastic! Can't wait.
Love to help, but hopeless at php/sql.

If you need graphics done though, or beta testers...?

This is indeed really great news that you will be picking this up.

If you need someone to help test, I can offer my guild's website. We use the mod to register for raids and RP events on our forum for our WoW guild.

I tend to do a lot of custom modding for the site, too, so I'm not sure if that would make me a better or worse guinea pig ;)

I'm pumped about moving to phpBB3 and can't do so til the mod is out, so I'm more than happy to help you in any way that I can. I would also like to be able to turn off the confirmation option, as I don't think we've ever used it, so it's just white space (or in our case gray space).

Okay, some updates (see first posting). The confirmation setting will be editable per post (default is "off") to guarantee flexibility independent from an admin.

I've written the first codelines and found it easier to do the modding work on phpbb3 compared to phpbb2. So i think i'll go ahead ;) . For the first alpha version i will need beta testers. I will start a demo forum for the testing and post the link of it here. Stay tuned.

@d3v: Up to now i don't see the need of graphics for this mod. If this will change, i'll come back to you. Thanks in advance.

@drumgirl: I'll need some help at translation. I'm not an english native speaker (sic!). But this will take place when the coding work is finished. Lok'tar ;)

I have a Suggestion.

Would it Be possible to allow people to Sign up using an alias.

For Instance One of the Forums I use this MOD for is a Gaming Site. The MOD is Used for for Setting up Raids but many of us have have more then one Character With Different Names, If there was Someway to Register under an alias Name that Would work or to have a Section where you Could Put in what or Who you are Bringing would work well also.

For Instance you Could have Something like

User -- Bringing -- Registered -- Confirmed
Bob ---- Chips ------- 1-1-01 ------- 1-5-01

And have a Check Box to Turn on and off the Bringing Function when the Reg is Setup
I can think of a lot of Uses for a system Like this.

What does Everyone Think.
