got the same problem when messages have been sent to groups instead of single users! Maybe that's the bug-problem?!

Hi all

it's done by this cout :
OPEN:

includes/acp/acp_prvmsg.php

SEARCH:

Code: Select all
$to_address = str_replace("u_", "", $to_address);
AFTER ADD:

Code: Select all
$to_address = str_replace("g_", "", $to_address);

Reason: If someone has post a PM to a "Group", the function parse_to_adress will fail....

Ok, this is a "dirty" fix...the shown "to_adress" is wrong, because the function searchs only in the user table.... but i'm not the author
thans anyway :)

Having a strange problem with this one... It worked earlier today just fine but after a database restore it shows no PMs, even though PMs are user-accessible, all 2200+ of them. I've tried removing and re-adding the module, just in case, but hasn't seemed to work.

For those of you who are getting No PM data, the solution has was suggested earlier in this thread works, you need to change your config file to read MYSQL, instead of mysqli but note this throws up a posting problem, in so far as your members will get a database error message when hitting the submit button, it appears this mod only works on mysql databases not mysqli ones, although I don't condone this mod and I'm not a lawyer as to the legalities of being able to see peoples pm's I would most certainly see some benefit of it, if a delete function was available, I can't believe the amount of left over PM's stuck in the database from users that have since long left my forum, even deleting the old users doesn't remove these bits

Also just a personnel note, the mod if you install as per instructions is only set up for the ACP so I don't see an issue with mods or other members seeing it, the only person or people you let in the ACP are what you yourself decide and if you didn't want them to see this, I would be questioning myself as to have I given the right person access to my ACP, anyway just my views

Agreed with you.

Well i have mysqli and people or members dont have problems posting messages :D which is cool lol but yeh all i did on CONFIG.PHP on the root folder

remove the i from the mysqli.

so it should be mysql and it works fine even tho the database is mysqli.

If u dont mind me asking whats the difference between MYSQLI and MYSQL databases :S

Has anyone tested this to see if it works on Gold?
EDIT: Ahem: copy root/acp/acp_prvmsg.php to acp/acp_prvmsg.php
copy root/acp/info/acp_prvmsg.php to acp/info/acp_prvmsg.php
copy root/adm/style/acp_prvmsg.html to adm/style/acp_prvmsg.html

Ermmm, there are two copies of acp_prvmsg.php in the *.tar files. Picture: Image

So.! Which one is it?

If you expand the PATH line you'll see one of them is the right file and the other is the INFO file. Extract them while keeping paths.
