I still have Aexoden's version installed as I only put it on my forum yesterday.

The problem I have and have only just noticed is that my permissions page on my forum is just an entirely blank white page now. yet every other tab in admin panel works fine.

Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

It's still beta but you'd be better following this (supported) topic here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1435355

It has been a couple of years since I have seriously looked at this MOD. At some point, I passed it along to someone who offered to continue to maintain it, but that doesn't seem to have worked out (with it being abandoned at this point, presumably).

Given recent releases from the MOD team (such as the MODX generator, which I haven't actually tested yet, and the new Customisation Database), I may be willing to once again maintain this MOD and actually get it submitted to the MOD database. However, before I expend any effort, I'd like to gauge a couple of things:
  • First, is there still any interest in this MOD? There are several other MODs with a similar feature set, though I haven't examined them in detail. Custom Rank Titles by Stich625 seems to be active, though I don't know if it matches my feature set.
  • Second, if there is interest, I'd like to hear about any outstanding issues anyone has had with the installation or use of this MOD. Last I heard, it was still perfectly compatible with recent phpBB versions, but I haven't personally tested since 3.0.5 or so.
If there is any interest, I will see about releasing a new test version for the most recent version of phpBB within a week or three, and then barring any unforeseen issues, submit to the MOD database.

I would also like to see this mod finished as it has all the features I need (post count, permissions, rank override, etc.)

I have uploaded version 2.0.0-b3 and updated the link in the first post to the new zip file. This new version brings along a few important changes:
  • Updated to MODX 1.2.5.
  • Added a UMIL installation file and tested the entire installation process with AutoMOD. AutoMOD installation is now recommended!
  • Some language changes have been consolidated into a new language file.
If there are any feature requests, I am potentially willing to consider them, but any such changes will have to wait until after a stable release is made.

Due to the changes in the installation process, I highly recommend installing from scratch using AutoMOD. Of course, if you have an active forum, this may be more difficult than necessary. Manual upgrade instructions are provided for the moment, however. I'm still not sure the procedure for upgrading a MOD via AutoMOD is actually useful, though I'll try to determine that for the stable version.

If you run into any problems or errors, please let me know so that I can get those fixed.

Outstanding things I'd like to look at:
  • The uninstall process should be robust. The current script doesn't delete UMIL or the install script, but deleting UMIL may affect other things and the install script should have already been deleted. However, in order to truly uninstall the MOD, the install script needs to be run anyway. In short, uninstallation is complicated, and I don't know how to best solve it.
  • Handling upgrades via AutoMOD needs to be figured out, as well as making sure people who installed pre-AutoMOD and UMIL have a way to get up to speed. (UMIL is easy, but AutoMOD is more difficult.)

Very nice, thank you!

I've used it for more than a year, and if you haven't changed anything in the core files, why upgrade?

A robust uninstall tool is a good plan! It ought to take the install.xml as input, eh?

If you already have a fully functional installation, there probably isn't any critical reason to upgrade, other than to ease upgrades between any future versions that may exist. (I have no idea if I'll take it that far, of course. There aren't any features that I personally feel are needed, so unless someone requests something, I definitely have nothing more to do after release.)

AutoMOD is currently reasonably good at uninstalling MODs without any additional help, but certain types of edits seem to give it trouble, so providing an uninstall.xml to facilitate uninstallation is what I currently do. For various reasons, the best way to uninstall MODs is to start afresh. Sometimes that's not practical, however.
