[ABD] phpBB Calendar

Post by SpaceDoG »

NOTICE:

alightner has taken over development of this MOD, please see the following development topic for progress and status: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0&t=666195

MOD Title: phpBB Calendar
MOD Description: A calendar MOD for phpBB to allow users to post events for public or private view within phpBB.
MOD Version: 0.0.0

MOD Download: M/A

Demo Board: http://calendar.hypermutt.net/
Demo User: demo
Demo User Password: demouser

  • UCP Calendar ACL

Notes:
  1. Development on this mod will be kind of slow as I'm still learning the phpBB coding guidelines. As I get code ready for the public I'll begin releasing it. If you're interested in helping me with this mod please feel free to contact me.
  2. Added alightner to the dev team. She's a much welcomed and thorough addition. We've gotten a decent amount done both cosmetically and core wise. Hopefully within the next week or two we'll have a screenshot or two as well as a possible demo.

Definately, would be great if this worked with the birthdays MOD built into RC5.

Also if there is a possibility of an events display on the index page of the forum as well, similar to birthdays display but to announce events on the calendar on a daily basis?

We were using Mini-Cal Events MOD on PHPBB2 and it was awesome! So something similar would definately be beneficial.

Cheers,

Nikki :)

[DEV] phpBB Calendar

Post by MamaKike »

Don't know if this idea has already been posted or if it is doable.

My idea is using the calender to keep a record of the day of users if they wishs to, but it was great if the other users could coment the things on the day of a user .

Like to day i have done something like this, but had spent 3 hours to do it

then a user that is read this day could post

Next time try this way and you'll be finishing it in 5min.

Thanks and is just an idea :D

We have a calendar that displays birthdays up and running - we're still working out the events part of the calendar, but SpaceDog is moving today, and won't have interenet access for a day or two. I don't have a timeline to report, but we're making progress daily :D

This is the one thing preventing me from upgrading to phpbb3 so trust me I'm just as anxious as you are ;)

As alightner said I'm without internet at home. For the past two days (12-13 Sept) I was moving. I'm in my new house and without internet till Tuesday (18 Sep). I guess it's a good thing I mostly work on this when I'm at work with nothing to do ;-). I'll update the features list of things we plan to add a little later today.

Would be great if this MOD would be available soon. This is great for our tabletop gaming group... everyone could schedule his games and tournaments in this thing...

bonelifer,

I don't have a MAC so I'm not too familiar with iCal or it's storage system... can you link or send me a .ics file to look at? Support won't be added this version but possibly in a later version.

We actually have it so that you can now add/delete events we just need to get the permission system setup so that people can't edit/delete events posted by others :-P
