Re: [RC] Google User Map

Post by HarleyDude »

I installed RC1 on a test board (RC5) and applied the Google API key. I am receiving the User Map screen without the map as previously described.

I have tested IE6, 7 and FF 1.0.7 - all have the same result.

Any ideas?

I found it, as usual, as soon as I posted here. If others are having a problem like this be sure to pay attention to the inline add.

I did the following:

Code: Select all

<body id="phpbb" class="section-{SCRIPT_NAME} {S_CONTENT_DIRECTION} {ON_LOAD}">
Where the {ON_LOAD} needs to go outside the ", like:

Code: Select all

<body id="phpbb" class="section-{SCRIPT_NAME} {S_CONTENT_DIRECTION}" {ON_LOAD}>
This is exactly what the instructions say, I just missed it.

Great Mod.

have just install RC version on my RC5 board.. i have about 8000 members and when i run user_map.php.. nothing.... it load the page but i have a general error (mysql server away...)
Hi dace,
If you have 8000 users you may have to wait for version 1.1, There will be a location cache so we dont go over the amount of geocodes google allows in 24 hours.

but just to make sure what does your error say exactly

I really like this one, very good job. I installed it on a prosilver and subsilver2 board, both are showing the users location when you click on the little balloon, but I also installed it on an acidtech (subsilver2 based theme) board and there the users location isn't shown.

Any idea where I have to verify this?

Grtz,

Nic

EDIT: I found out how it comes, the text is shown in white and the background is also white ;) Any idea how to get the location shown in black?

Web site is offline to upgrade to RC7

When the site is back up I will be posting the 1.1 version of this mod for testing.

1.1 has built in location cache so web boards with a lot of users will load a lot faster and lot have issues with googles geocode limits

I'm testing 1.1 on my board (55.000 users), but I get a blank page after 15-20 seconds trying to load user_map.php.

I get
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in public_html/forums/cache/tpl_prosilver_user_map.html.php on line 68

And when I purge cache I get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in public_html/forums/includes/template.php(175) : eval()'d code on line 68

:(

SQL-Befehl:

CREATE TABLE `phpbb_geocode` (
`user_from` varchar(100) collate utf8_bin NOT NULL default '',
`user_lat` double NOT NULL default '0',
`user_long` double NOT NULL default '0',
`code_expire` int(11) unsigned NOT NULL default '0'
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_bin;

MySQL meldet: Dokumentation
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'collate utf8_bin NOT NULL default '',
`user_lat` double NOT
I`ve deleted red marked text to work.

Remains from a <div> Tag?
#----- user_map.html ------
#----- around line 68 -----
</div>
<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->iv>
</div>
But still I got an error:

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /www/htdocs/***/area51/includes/template.php(175) : eval()'d code on line 68
After one site refresh

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /www/htdocs/***/area51/cache/tpl_prodom_user_map.html.php on line 68

User Map 1.1 does not work on my forum (55.000 users). It takes ages to load, and then gives a blank page.
