[ABD] Medal System MOD for phpBB3

Hey Gremlinn,

I've got your medal mod working for about a year now and i love it!
But i have one question i would like answered.

Today i started redesigning the user profile sections to my likings. I know some html and css so that isnt the problem.
The problem is that i don't know how to redesign the "medal_memberlist_view.html"
I wanted to make the medals show separate like this:



But i don't know if this is generated with a html file. I only could get to this and then the trail stops.

Where can i find the script that makes MEDAL_ISSUE?

Or am i following a blind trail and there isnt a easy way to change this?

GatorHunter: Those look pretty sharp. If you would like, you could post that on my test site. I would like to keep all the medal packages in one place, makes them a little easier to locate.

shortbull: I think everything you should need is in the included style html you are looking at. The medals.php file is the one that updates template variables. If you take the medal_memberlist_view.html file and re-arrange the contents, then include it as I did, but where you would like it, you should be good to go.

For exemple, if I'm a 'normal user', and I was nominated for a medal, can I approve them to show on my profile?

I didn't find any buttons on user profile with a 'normal account' to approve these medals. I only found the buttom with a ADM account

You could give "normal users" the permission to award a medal but then they could award them to anyone.

sims8b: madmartyau is correct. You can set permissions to award medals to anyone or group that you would like using the standard forum permissions tool in the ACP. However, it allows that person or group to award medals to anyone. There is nothing limiting the permission to themselves.

Think of the design of this system as if in a military command. A soldier doesn't put himself in for a medal. It is recommended by others, usually someone up the chain from them. (nominations) Then, the nominations get reviewed by a medal review board or commanders. They then approve or disapprove them. They also have the ability to adjust which medal is awarded and the statement explaining why. I hope that makes sense of my method of thinking on setting this up.

I thought it was necessary to approve the medals individually, but I found the buttom in medals.php to approve all pendding medals. "Problem" solved!

I want to do something.

in viewtopic under avatar I want to display the medals as thumbnails and to be clickable to another page which is the main page of the medals and to see the medals in their actual sizes.

I use medals their are not big in size but if they are thumbnails wil be more great and if some one wants to see the actual size just click and he will goes to the main page of the medals to see them ( medals.php ).

I can see in ACP medals that they are thumbnailed, so I want like them to be in viewtopic.php.

Clickable medals to medals.php , I think I can do it, but viewing medals as thumbnails in viewtopic this needs your help.

vert5: I set a limit on the size of the entry field. You could adjust that in the includes/acp/acp_medals.php file. I am sorry I don't know exactly where at the moment (code is not with me). There will be a limit in the database field, I don't remember what I set that to either. If you don't find it or someone else doesn't point you to it, I will try to remember to get you the information.

Romeo66: You can define a width (and/or height) for each medal in the ACP. In the viewtopic, it will display them at that size.

I tried what you said before it did not work, it worked in viewprofile.

I did something using the frontpage as put the width and height also I put href clickable image to the medal.php.

I just upgraded from 0.9.8 to 0.10.3 and found a bug - on viewtopic only the base medal image is shown. For example, if I have 2 medals it shows device.gif instead device-2.gif although device-2.gif still shows correctly on my profile.

I think the problem is here:
