When I tried to add SQL this code

Code: Select all

CREATE `phpbb_kb_config` (
	`config_name` varchar(100) binary NOT NULL,
	`config_value` mediumtext NOT NULL
) TYPE=MyISAM;
Error occurs

Code: Select all

CREATE `phpbb_kb_config` (
`config_name` varchar( 100 ) binary NOT NULL ,
`config_value` mediumtext NOT NULL
) TYPE = MYISAM

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '`phpbb_kb_config` (
    `config_name` varchar(100) binary NOT NULL,
    `config_valu' at line 1
what to do?
It takes hard work to stay on...Top.

There are some little errors if no articles are in the kb

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /knowledge/index.php on line 48: Undefined index: newest_id
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /knowledge/index.php on line 53: Undefined index: newest_title

I add some like this in kb_categorie.html for artikel_row

Code: Select all

    <!-- BEGINELSE -->
       {L_NO_ARTICLES}
    <!-- END artikel_row -->
Its not able to let guests add articles, but im not sure, if this is an error from phpBB.
If i look for the effective rights from anonymous in acp, i see all kb things red, but if i click on the little icon to follow the rights it shows me all green: group, user and together :|

Error on activating an article.
post_id in table kb_article must be mediumint(8) - was tinyint(1)

there are alredy mismatchet variables in templates and .php: artikel / article and activ/aktive
i set them all to article and hope so my templates are update prove :-)

I tested this on a 3.0.1. I get the following sql error:

SQL query:

INSERT INTO `phpbb_kb_config` ( `config_name` , `config_value` )
VALUES
('kb_title', '', 1),
('kb_description', '', 1),
('post_subject', '', 1),
('post_message', '', 1),
('index_topics', '3', 0),
('topic_type', '0', 0),
('post_user', '2', 0),
('kb_mode', '1', 0),
('cache_time', '3600', 0),
('activ_types', '1', 0),
('show_post_edit', '1', 0),
('update_post', '1', 0)

Great, thanks :) Three final questions. In the instructions for installation, it says:

Code: Select all

Open: styles/prosilver/theme/buttons.css
Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.

Code: Select All
.icon-bookmark, .icon-bump, .icon-subscribe, .icon-unsubscribe, .icon-pages, .icon-search
In-line Find
Tip: This is a partial match of a line for in-line operations.

Code: Select All
, .icon-search
In-line Add after

Code: Select All
, .icon-kb
Open: styles/prosilver/theme/colours.css
Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.

Code: Select All
.icon-search					{ background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_search.gif"); }
Add after
Tip: Add these lines on a new blank line after the preceding line(s) to find.

Code: Select All
.icon-kb				{ background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_kb.gif"); }
However, the template I'm using doesn't have either file. Where can I add these?

Also, if you view Knowledge Here, it's redirecting the url my banners are set to /knowledge/portal.php when it should just be redirecting to portal.php. Where do I change that at?

Where do I add categories at?

Tried this on a 3.0.0 forum as well, thinking maybe it might work on a 3.0.0 vs a 3.0.1, and there's quite a few issues I've encountered with the Version 0.2.6 of this mod:

1. There are no instructions at the end of the installation file tell you where to go to get this mod working in the admin CP. The end of the file says this:
DIY Instructions
These are manual instructions that cannot be performed automatically. You should follow these instructions carefully.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Save all files. End of MOD.
You have finished the installation for this MOD. Upload all changed files to your website. If the installation went bad, simply restore your backed up files.

That is exactly what appears for me when I'm reading it.

2. Even after purging the cache numerous times, following the installation instructions to a perfect "T", there is still nothing at all appearing in .Mods tab in the admin CP to be able to add this mod.

3. Cannot add categories or subcategories anywhere.

4. When I went ahead and tried to submit a test article anyway, I got the following message:
Enter a title and text for the article! Click here to go back.
When there was text for the article as well as a title.

5. When clicking on BBCode buttons to add it to the article, they don't work. When clicking a smiley to add to the article, it isn't added but instead it bumps the page back up to the top.

6. The SQL change for the INSERT INTO `phpbb_kb_config` (`config_name`, `config_value`) VALUES
that was posted by another member isn't in the files, either.

7. There is an update file included in the download zip that produces an SQL error when I try to execute it:
Error

SQL query:

ALTER TABLE `phpbb_kb_article` CHANGE `has_post` `post_id` MEDIUMINT( 8 ) NULL DEFAULT NULL ;

MySQL said: Documentation
#1054 - Unknown column 'has_post' in 'phpbb_kb_article'
This would be a terrific mod to have and I have many uses for it. Hopefully these issues can be rectified :)

I never really noticed that the DIY Instructions weren't there. I go and look in the Module Management every time I install a Mod anyways. Just create a new Module Category under your .MODS tab called 'Knowledge Base' or something and add the 3 Modules.

Once that's done you will have all the options available to create the Categories, however there still hasn't been a resolution to my issue I posted a couple pages back regarding the 404 error I get when trying to add an article. It's not creating the html files, at least not for me.

---

You shouldn't be looking in the Update folders unless you're actually updating from an older version as the previous SQL entires won't be found so they will have no choice but to give an error.

The SQL edit I posted was actually posted by the Author at the very same time. It works, even though it's not in the instructions.

I don't have an option in the .Mods tab of the admin CP at the forum to add new modules. I I could, I wouldn't even know what modules to add because it doesn't say anywhere in the instructions on what you're suppose to add if you can lol.

For some reason that I cannot figure out, I have to copy everything from the instructions beginning with the DYI instructions section to the end of the page, then paste that into my forum to read the rest of the manual instructions. I've done that with this mod, have located the .MODS section in the System -> Module Management -> Administration Control Panel, but ... I'm really lost as to what exactly I have to do in there.
Enter "Medals Control Panel" and click "Create new module"

I don't see medals control panel. I see Medals Management. Clicking that shows me Configuration, create a new module, etc. The instructions for this are a little confusing for someone is more of a novice at doing this stuff.

if I click the Configuration link in there, I get this: ACP -> .MODs -> Medals Management -> Configuration [Edit | Delete | Disable] Along with create, add, and select module. I'm so lost! :cry:

How to install the Knowledge Base ACP items:
ACP->System->Administration Control Panel->.MODS
Create New Module, type in "Knowledge Base"
Enable it
Then enter this Module
Then select a item at "Knowledge Base" then click "Add Module".
Repeat it with the other 2 items at "Knowledge Base".
Enable all 3 items.

After that, you find the Knowledge Base ACP items here: ACP->.MODs

Thank you so much! I was getting so frustrated and confused that I just wanted to cry, lol. I assume it's the same thing for installing other mods that show up in there?

Okay, I've got that all set up. Everything's working except for the following:

When I try to add an article, I get this:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Field 'artikel_time' doesn't have a default value [1364]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb_kb_article (titel, article, page_uri, description, cat_id, type_id, enable_bbcode, enable_smilies, enable_magic_url, post_id, user_id, last_edit_user, post_time, last_change, bbcode_bitfield, bbcode_uid, bbcode_options) VALUES ('Test', 'Test', '', 'Test', 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, '53', '53', 1208744434, 1208744434, '', '', 7)

Also, clicking on a bbcode button doesn't add the tag and neither do the smiley's.
