Re: [BETA] Mini Knowledge Base

Post by montebond » Thu May 15, 2008 1:53 pm

I have installed 27 and edited the files, Enabled the tab for knowledge base. added perrmissions to adminstrator and set up catagories.
I cant setup types
I dont have a button to ADD and article

where are the types added?

and what file controls the ADD button so I can try to reslove this.

thanks

Revised 23-5-08
Found the source of the issue. It seems I had 2 permmisons sections in my db ( a bad sql add I guess, i used phpadmin to insert it) so it seems that the permissions were set in the first section and the php page looked in the second. I deleted the second version in the db and everthing came to life. All is working as advertised I love it.

what version do you use?
Since version 0.2.5 there are unlimited subcategories.

You could probably include the index.php file on your forum index... not sure if that's what you're looking to do, exactly...

Also, thanks to xxxgamer for the assist on getting the links to work from the category view (kb_categorie) ;)

Still having one last problem... when I click on the View Info button, I get the following error...

Code: Select all

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in ../html/battlegrounds/forums/knowledge/kb_log.php on line 110
Any thoughts on this? This is the code from kb_log.php, starting at line 110...

Code: Select all

$template->assign_vars(array(
	'U_ARTICLE'			=> article_link($id, $row['page_uri']),
	'S_DELETE_LOG'		=> $auth->acl_get('u_log_kb_delete'),
	'NOFORUMNAV'		=> true,
	)
);
Am I missing something? :oops:

*EDIT*

I just decided to remove the view info line from kb_show.html... now I don't have to look at a button that doesn't work :P I removed the following line...

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_ARTICLE_LOG --><a href="{U_ARTICLE_HISTORY}" title="{L_ARTICLE_HISTORY}">{INFO_IMG}</a><!-- ENDIF -->
Still, if anybody knows how to fix this, I'd like to be able to use this feature! :mrgreen:

I searched previous posts. I upload an image and a program. The KB topic is then upload and is clearly on the list. I select it and it loads with the image, but the image is in a URL.

Image

Notice how the download file (.RAR) is displayed, but any image is not. Permissions are right. I doubled checked.

I let it sit, maybe if the image was loading, but it never did

EDIT: More info.

If I preview post, they appear. The second I click "submit" and then view it. They don't appear. If I select them to view. I get mySQL error than I cannot view that attachment, or I get the selected attachment doesn't appear anymore.

In prosilver everything is just fine, but in a subsilver based style it's a little bit strange.

I did' nt change any languagefile because prosilver works fine.
What's the problem here?

in the ACP when i used the KB configuration thing and i insert the code

Code: Select all

{URL}
in the template it gives an output like

Code: Select all

../knowledge/kb_show.php?id=42
in the forum relevant to teh article!!
as such i am not able to link to the article directly....is there a way to change

Code: Select all

../knowledge/kb_show.php?id=42
to

Code: Select all

www.yourforum.com/knowledge/kb_show.php?id=42

Ok,
Replaced in kb.categoies.html

this
<h2>{L_NEW_ARTICLE}</h2>
<p>{L_NEW_ARTICLE_DESC}</p>

with
<h2>{CAT_TITLE}</h2>
<p>{CAT_DESCRIPTION}</p>

The strange text is gone,
but any link of the kb is clackable, and there is no link, to create an article.

Whats the problem?
