Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in /home/mkjsworld/QJ0K0H6W/htdocs/mainforum/includes/template.php(175) : eval()'d code on line 132
Any idea why? Leaving that part of the code out for now allows the forum to come back online. This happens on my prosilver template that is inactive at the moment.

Could you try being less cryptic in your solution? My PHP knowledge is not quite up to scratch, and I think it would aid me, as well as many other less advanced users on this board, if you were to go into a bit more detail?

I have been stuck on this for the last hour or so and can't figure out what the problem is :(

Here is an excerpt from my current viewtopic_body.php, please could someone give me some idea of what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Re: [ALPHA] (Topic &) Post Rating System (with Karma module)

Post by Kasyx »

Solved it! \o/

The issue was that copying the new code directly from the XML install doc resulted in it being wordwrapped, which caused the error.

That sorted things out pretty quickly, however the next error has shown its ugly head:

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in \www\includes\template.php(175) : eval()'d code on line 229
If anyone knows what is going on here, please help me out?

Thanks

Hello,

First thx a lot for this great MOD ! And sorry by advance for my bad english...

I installed the 0.4 version, without problem.

I would like to use this MOD without limit of voting date, so i put :
Show rating when voting round is open : YES
Period posts are open for voting (days): 9999 days (!)

But i see two bugs (?) :

- First, the stars don't appear in the listname of topics of the forums (ie. viewforum page)
(but it's ok in the messages of the topics)

- Second, although my period of voting is 9999 days, many recent posts are closed to the vote.
I can't understand the logic behind : some posts posted during the day are closed to the vote after been replied at the end of the day, other posts (older of several months) seem to be closed to the vote when they belong to the first of the three pages which compose the topic (but the posts of the two next pages are still open to the vote even if they are posted at the same date...), well it's confused !

Thx a lot for any help :-)

Make sure you edited viewforum_body.html.

Older topics have to be re-enabled for voting. This has been covered.

Thx for your quick answer.
Make sure you edited viewforum_body.html.
Well, i think so... i will verify.
Older topics have to be re-enabled for voting
Please how do you define an "older topic" ?
(no topics older than 9999 days in my forums lol !)
How do you "re-enable" a topic...?
This has been covered.
Sorry, i didn't read the thirty pages ;-)

THX A LOT.

Use the file from the contrib folder when in doubt.

Older topics are topics in existance before installation.
Go to MCP and open voting for them.

That's why I always advocated deletion of all postings related to obsolete versions and resolved problems.
But we can not discuss policies of this forum.

Well, we understand the problem :

It seems that there are two versions for this MOD, the "premod" one (which should be ok) and the "manual installation" one ...
We used this last version, and it doesn't modify neither the viewforum_body.html, neither the MCP !!

Now, it's OK because we reinstalled this MOD with the good version...

Hi,

Few questions please :

1)
Older topics are topics in existance before installation.
Go to MCP and open voting for them.
Well, i have more than 10 000 topics...
What is the relative field to change in the database ? "prs_score" in phpbb3_posts ?

2) I dont't wanted weighted average rating, i want a "normal" average rating.
Should i set :
* Interval: 0
* Amount of intervals: 0
or (for example) :
* Interval: 9999
* Amount of intervals: 1

3) About the Karma: x ~ y of a user
What are respectively x and y ?

THANKS A LOT !
