That sounds like you have added the following twice to your style, check your edits and make sure it's only there once.

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_CALENDAR_WEEK -->
	<!-- INCLUDE calendar_week_on_index.html -->
<!-- ELSEIF S_CALENDAR_NEXT_EVENTS -->
	<!-- INCLUDE calendar_next_events_on_index.html -->
<!-- ENDIF -->

I have searched for that code therat but i cant seem to find it. I had the guys at freeforums.org install the MOD so they would have a better idea than me.

If someone could tell me exactly what file i would find that code in I should be able to do it myself.

For the default prosilver it's in the following file styles/prosilver/template/index_body.html

This may be a strange question, even rude, but I'll ask it anyway - having been "caught out" by a beta mod that I installed, and then the creator disappeared!

I notice from alightner's profile that he/she last visited on Thu Dec 30, 2010 8:04 pm. Also, there have been no answers to the questions of when the mod is likely to get approved.

Can anyone provide any confidence that this mod has a future, before I install it? It looks great, just concerned!

Many thanks,

- Pete

I've been using the current version of this mod since it's release (& I used the previous version)... Likewise, I'm using the latest version of phpBB. No problems with the mod.

What I've found after following this topic for a while now is that 95% of the problems are the result of admins not following the install instructions and/or making incorrect edits to their files.

That being said, if you're going to give this mod a shot I strong recommend that:
  • A - Create a back-up of your Forum's database and files before installing the mod (or any mod).
  • B - Follow the install instructions very carefully and double-check your edits.
  • C - Be sure to note that the Style instructions/edits are in a separate xml file. They can be found in the xml folder of the download.

Thanks Keith. I'm "gobsmacked". Installed and working - first time!

Just need to get subsilver sorted and we're done!

Cheers,

- Pete

No problem.

Do yourself a favor and move from a subsilver style (to prosilver). Your phpBB life will be way easier ;)

Hi Alightner. I have just installed your MOD on my forum and it works well, but I have a problem: I can't view upcoming events on my main page!! My theme isn't prosilver, I installed the MOD with automod, so I had to add manually the files in the style directory. And no file is missing. The name of my theme is "AZ_Retro" and this is the link of my forum: vintagerockforum.altervista.org
Hope you can help me.
Michele

Did you ensure that the style edits were done to the style that you're using?

Automod is a great tool but it's not 100%. Review the required style edits and ensure that they were done to your AZ_Retro style.

Thanks to alightner and gytr_r1 I was able to deploy the Calendar 0.1.0 without any problems on my IIS 7 / SQL Server 2008 R2 instance. Here is the T-SQL script that I used for my deployment. The only thing that I wasn't able to code/test were the foreign key constraints for the new tables, so I left them commented out.

The calendar works perfectly fine in all aspects for those that are just wanting a way to get it up and running fast, but for a proper production environment you would probably want to add in those relational constraints and double check the datatypes that I used. I also didn't include the checks to see if the tables already existed because I was running this on a default installation. Sorry if this is not as professional as some may like - but I'm not a pro DBA by any means. I'm mostly just posting this so someone else can go through one less step than I did. Thanks for all the hard work that has been put into this great mod so far!
