I believe that if you disable the birthday display for the entire forum in your ACP, it should hide them on the calendar as well. Let me know if that works.

No - it uses the forum wide configuration variable to determine whether or not birthdays should be displayed.

I have an other issue with calendar:
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions_calendar.php on line 1278: date(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions_calendar.php on line 59: date(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970
That appear only if i check the "display current week" option in ACP.
What's wrong ??

The month names should get translated in the language files (ie anything that lives in root/language is fair game for translation). However the core php files like includes/functions_calendar.php should not be translated. Those are in english for a reason ;)

speaking of birthday on calendar.

I have this mod with Require Birth Date on Registration mod installed and it has a setting in it, to 'show age'.

now with a small mod I was able to allow the user to select if they want to show there own age or not.

here is what I changed in /includes/functions_calendar.php

find:

Code: Select all

function generate_birthday_list( $day, $month, $year )
{
	global $db, $user, $config;

	$birthday_list = "";
	if ($config['load_birthdays'] && $config['allow_birthdays'])
	{
	    $sql = 'SELECT user_id, username, user_colour, user_birthday
add to the end of the line

Code: Select all

, user_show_age
find:

Code: Select all

		// TBD TRANSLATION ISSUE HERE!!!
			$birthday_list .= (($birthday_list != '') ? ', ' : '') . get_username_string('full', $row['user_id'], $row['username'], $row['user_colour']);
add to next row

Code: Select all

		if(($row['user_show_age']==1)or ($row['user_show_age']==3))// added this if statement
			 {

find:

Code: Select all

			// TBD TRANSLATION ISSUE HERE!!!
				$birthday_list .= ' (' . ($year - $age) . ')';
			}
then add to next line

Code: Select all

	}
I Hope this helps

With phpBB if they don't enter their birth year then their age is not shown by default. Only what day/month their birthday is on.

Hello,

I get regularly this php notice:

Code: Select all

[05-Feb-2008 09:40:47] [phpBB Debug] [client ] [File calendar.php?view=day&calD=1&calM=3&calY=2007] PHP Notice: in file /var/www/html/forum/includes/functions_calendar.php on line 633 : Undefined variable: event_counter
Is it possible to check this pls?

Greetings,

tandy wrote:I tried many times to install that mod, check everything and everytime when i try to login i have a blank page, if i remove the calendar entry in index.php, i have my normal page.
If i go to /calendar.php/ the calendar work fine but i still have a blank page in index.php
I found the reason for the blank page, there is a conflict between [DEV] Advanced BBcode box 3 and the calendar.

If i disable [DEV] Advanced BBcode box 3, everything goes well and no blank page but [DEV] Advanced BBcode box 3 does not work, if i disable the calendarr, [DEV] Advanced BBcode box 3 return to normal but no calendar.
Thanks for your support, if it possible i want both of them working properly.

In calendar_display_day() in functions_calendar.php (should be around line 503):

Code: Select all

// Is the user able to view ANY events?
and add before:

Code: Select all

$event_counter = 0;

There is another small question, is it possible to reverse month/day to get day/month, because in french language we write day/month like:
Week of february 5
Semaine du 5 février

Thank you.

I noticed a weird bug: sometimes when I post an event that starts in the afternoon and ends after 23h the same day (e.g. 23h45), the event is displayed on 2 days in stead of 1 :?

Could this have to do with winter savings time (or how do you translate that)?

Alightner, have you read these previous posts of mine? I don't want to stalk you with them though :oops:
Jume wrote:A few other remarks:
  • - The birthdays are shown even when you're not logged in. I don't think this is a good idea. Isn't it possible to set permissions so that guests can see the events but not the birthdays?

    - I know there has been asked for a topic calender. But a nice (and maybe easier) approach would be if one could reply on an event subject (something like the comment funcion in the TS photo gallery mod), if possible with a notification option. That way comments on events would not be counted in post count, which is not necessary in my opinion. And if the profile block would be included in the event posts, events post would look almost like a real post ;)
Just some thoughts, I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this mod already 8-)
Jume wrote:Is it possible to put the profile block on the right side on the view event page? Now there's just a rather huge empty space.

Also a minor flaw: when viewing the week or hour page, the icons (month icon and the other one) are not shown completely.
