Fantastic MOD! Thanks so much for all your work on this. Just upgraded from 0.0.5 without a hitch (I really dig how much permission control we have with this MOD; there are some events that I don't want unregistered users to see).

Since the question keeps coming up here's a tip for folks worried about permissions issues as a result of running the SQL statement twice... The SQL statements haven't changed much since at least 0.0.5. If you're upgrading from 0.0.5 the statement you need to run is:

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO `phpbb_calendar_config` (`config_name`, `config_value`) VALUES
('prune_frequency', '0'),
('last_prune', '0'),
('prune_limit', '2592000');
Now to try and fit this into our subSilver2 theme :D

Hi,

I can't modify permissions, could you explain me why ?

When I modify permissions, it seems to be saved but when I want to see permissions, nothing is done. Administrators can't manage calendar settings...

I probably forgotten something but where....what....when....I don't know :?
I'm ready to kill my computer :evil:

Doesn't anyone read this thread? I'm 95% sure that's the same problem that's been listed over and over throughout this thread - including the very last person who asked for help! You most likely have duplicate permissions - if you'd read the install manual or this thread you'd know that by now.... grrr :evil:

My apologies that you had to be the one to get this lecture, but I need to explain this for everyone's benefit: If people don't read this thread or the instructions in install.xml, they can/will have problems just like this. :roll:

Sorry if you're angry alightner,

I read the entire topic during two hours today !! I verified, before posting, my database particullary that table acl_optionswith the request

Code: Select all

select * from phpbb_acl_options where auth_option like '%calendar%';
, all changes in xml files and I didn't find anything.

I'm a developper (like you, I suppose) and I search before asking a stupid question. So, when I think I've searched everywhere, let me ask a question

I'm sorry to make you lose time :|

I'm not mad at you personally, it's just quite common to see duplicate questions, and when they happen three times in a row it's frustrating.
First verify that your prefix for all of your tables in the database is infact "phpbb_" if it's different that could be a source of problems. Next, please take a screenshot of the output from this command and post it here:

Code: Select all

select * from phpbb_acl_options where auth_option like '%calendar%';

the prefix for tables is "kidi_" and I verified that your code didn't contain "phpbb_" somewhere (professionnal default perhaps ;) )

You can see here what you asked me
I hope solution is here.... :roll:

OK - now that I see you don't have duplicate entries we can move forward looking for other issues. When you say that it's not saving your changes, what exactly do you mean? When you set the admin calendar permissions, and save the changes, when you return to that same page do things look the same or different from what they were when you saved them. And if they are different from when you pressed save, please take screen shots so I can see what's going on.

Thanks!

I don't speak your language, but I'm confused... acording to the screenshot where you go to set the permission you set the permission value to "No" (Non) and then saved your work. Try changing it to "Yes" (Oui) if you want permission to adminstrate the calendar.

The value is set to "No" when I see for the first time the screen
I click on "Yes" and "Apply"
After, I see the green screen where is written "Permissions modified"
But when I go another time on permission screen, the value is always set to 'No'
That's what I don't understand.
Could you tell me where I can insert a code which shows me what happens during the saving procedure ?

(Sorry for my english too) :?

I don't know what else to suggest... you don't have any of the known causes for this type of bug, and I can't reproduce your problem on the demo board. I'm guessing you either missed a step from the installation, or perhaps you have other pre-existing customizations on your forum that are causing this problem. My best recommendation is to create a test forum. Install phpbb3 without any other mods or customizations. Then try installing this mod very carefully and see if you still have the same problem.

Seems to be a great mod, but after adding an event I can't seem to find where to edit it. So where do I edit an event?

Hi there, as suggested I did the search and found the patch for hidden groups:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p4978615

I don't think this is a bug in your stuff but when I "tested user permissions" for a user with less access than me, he could see the list of groups I would see. However if I actually logged in as that user the list is properly limited.

I think perhaps that whole "test user permissions" functionality in phpbb is a bit broken.

No - "testing permissions" doesn't work with the calendar - it takes a long time to explain, but that is working as designed.

You need to make sure you gave yourself permission to edit events before you will see the button to let you edit events.
