Re: [Alpha] phpBB Calendar 0.0.8 (alightner)

Post by moifest » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:45 pm

Hi,
Long time since I posted in this MOD.

How can I change the next events display on the forum index to show just

'Nov 23rd 2008'

and not 'Nov 23rd 2008 1.00am'

Ive had a look at the functions code for function display_next_events( $x ) but the timestamp placement has me bemused.

Any help on what to remove or edit please.

Could you maybe think about adding an option for members to tick a box when viewing an event to say that they are attending? and to untick it if they are not and have the page automatically refresh saving the new option each time they tick/untick the box?

When a member has ticked the box it would also make a list at the bottom to say which members off the website will be attending.

I have seen this on another websites calendar and its a very popular feature, it also allows the event organiser to see roughly how many people are attending.

In functions_calendar.php in root/includes:
Both function calendar_display_week and function calendar_display_month contain an sql statement starting with
$sql = 'SELECT * FROM ' . CALENDAR_EVENTS_TABLE . '

What I changed was to add another variable $mid_temp_date which is set to 8 hours after the start of the day. Right above that sql statement and right after the line

$end_temp_date = $start_temp_date + 86399;

I added

$mid_temp_date = $start_temp_date + 28800;

and changed one line in the sql to read (

( event_end_time > '.$db->sql_escape($mid_temp_date).' AND event_end_time <= '.$db->sql_escape($end_temp_date).' ) OR

instead of

( event_end_time > '.$db->sql_escape($start_temp_date).' AND event_end_time <= '.$db->sql_escape($end_temp_date).' ) OR

which means retrieve an event for that day if it ended after 8am that morning and before the end of that day instead of any event that ended after 00:01 am that morning and before the end of that day. You can adjust the time by just calculating the number of seconds from midnight you want to exclude and setting $mid_temp_date to that number.
Thanks, that works perfectly :D

Hi there, great mod.
I just have one query.

When adding a new event and choosing 'Group' under Who can see this Event.
I only seem to have Administrators, Global Moderators & Registered Users available.
How do I add other groups or remove groups from this drop down selection?

Regards

Steve

Hi,

Does anybody know how to disable birthdays from being displayed within the the calendar?

I don't want to stop birthdays from appearing on my forum index, however I have had to do that for as my calender is just for the promotion of dance events.

Open:
../styles/prosilver/template/calendar.html

Find:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF calendar_days.BIRTHDAYS -->{calendar_days.BIRTHDAYS}<!-- ENDIF -->
Delete this line.

After: Don't forget to refresh your template cache!

How to apply the following instructions?

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO phpbb_acl_options (auth_option, is_global, is_local, founder_only) VALUES ('a_calendar', 1, 0, 0),
('m_calendar_edit_other_users_events', 1, 0, 0),
('m_calendar_delete_other_users_events', 1, 0, 0),
('u_calendar_view_events', 1, 0, 0),
('u_calendar_create_events', 1, 0, 0),
('u_calendar_edit_events', 1, 0, 0),
('u_calendar_delete_events', 1, 0, 0);

Code: Select all

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `phpbb_calendar_config`;
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `phpbb_calendar_config` (
  `config_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
  `config_value` varchar(255) NOT NULL
);
How to INSERT and how to CREATE a table?

Thanks in advance. ;)

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it out.

1. Is it normal that it says "No Index Defined"? (Below "Indizes") In my phpbb_calendar_config table.
Picture: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m287 ... 010240.gif

2. In my calendar settings I can't change the "Display Next Events" (=5). It's unclickable.
Picture: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m287 ... 010320.gif

3. There's the option to have the current week displayed on the index. Can anybody give me the instructions for the index_body.html file for subsilver please?

Thanks in advance. ;)
