Hi krackq,

Have you checked users and groups tab >> group permissions >> calendar tab >> Can Create/Edit Events for Groups that they do Not Belong to??

My guess is if they can edit and create group events, they can also read! ;) :lol:

Yep! I just checked under users and groups, group permissions for the "Administrators" group.

User permissions for calendar tab are set to yes for everything except "Can create events with outside guests allowed"

global moderator permissions are set to yes for everything except "Can edit responses created by other users"

and Admin permissions are set to yes for everything there (manage event types, etc)

Just to add to this, while logged in as a forum administrator, I could see all forum groups in the drop down list when creating a private group calendar event. I went ahead and created the private event for a specific forum group. I could see the event as the administrator that created it and I could see the event with an account as a member of that specific group. However, when I looked at the calendar with another account that was a member of the Administrators group, I could not see the event. It seems I can create events for any group as an Administrator, but cannot view events for any/every group as an Administrator.

Find the user that can't see the event in acp and see if you can find any differences? maybe these accounts are not added correctly?

Create an event with this username and check if you can see it?

This permission system is great because ou can do just about anything you like ... it's very complicated for the same reason :?

I just now was very happy to have a very recent backup because I made a few changes to find the reason of your problem (all of the sudden I seemed to have promoted any user to moderator) :oops: :lol:

As far as I can tell, these users are added correctly. I created a test event for that group with the administrator account. I then tried to see the event with another account. As a normal user, that account could not see the event. As a forum administrator (using the built-in Administrators group), that account could not see the event. Only when I added that account to the private group in question could it see the event.

The group is configured as a Hidden group on the forum (as are many of our groups). It seems like I have to add the higher level accounts to all of the groups to ensure that I will see all of the private events.

Yeah, it's starting to look like that, though I must admit that the permission system is not my strongest point.

Maybe someone else has a better idea krackq. :oops:
BTW shouldn't admins at least be groupleader anyway? Just a silly thought :lol:

I need to change the calendar background color.. the theme I chose and adapted made the entire calendar black, but hovers white (you can see the events and stuff on hover).

Then you need to look at the new calendar lines in your stylesheet mokatu.

@krackq

I noticed this in ACP >> Mods tab >> Callendar settings:
ACP wrote:
Display Hidden Groups:
Do you want Visitors to be able to See and Invite Members of Hidden Groups? If this Setting is Disabled, Only Group Administrators will be able to See and Invite Members of the Hidden Group.

Well there's many shades of gray .. this goes for black too :lol: , you could test with a very visible colour (like lime) and see what changes what or give much more info (give any helper a chance to investigate instead of gamble all answers or keep asking for more info) ;)

Hello and congratulation for this fantastic MDO !

One question : is it possible to changer owner of a calendar event ?
Because I'm creating events for users but I cannot assign it to a specific user.
A way ? May be in future version ? I don't known if this mod is maintain or not.
It can be cool to send paypal found to help developper to go on on this mod developpement.

Thank a lot, good job !

@Joshua203

Yep! Got that box checked too. It seems like when the acl settings are checked for group membership, you have to be an explicit member of that forum group to see a calendar event created as a private group event. I was hoping that the phpbb built in Administrators group members would just automatically see these events even though it is not an explicit member. I guess it kind of makes sense based on how the checks are probably accomplished.

The down side is that to overcome this I will need to add people to the specific private groups to see their events even though they are in a group that is considered a moderator for that groups forum area. They are just not explicit members of that group. Worse though, I cannot nest groups I think. So I need a few dozen people to have access to a few hundred private groups and those few dozen people are potentially changing every now and then. Messy!

Future idea... stop using automod and learn to rely on basic knowledge instead!!! it's easy once you start.. if you think you can edit an install xml, you most certainly are able to add mods manually :roll:
The 0.1.1 version is now translated, working with phpbb-fr team to correctly packaging this french version.
Who is currently make the developpment of this MOD ?
