Whats the problem and how to solve it?

I have the latest flash player on my computer, and i have also tryed in the config options to lower the minimum version of flash player but no luck.
That has been posted a NUMBER OF TIMES
Read back pages :D
Usualy it is because of not updating all the new files.
You must upload all new files in the folders then refresh templates etc etc.

Try that and try reading back pages some. This is one of the most common posted "bugs" that is not a bug its a installation incompletion error.
Well it started working again without me doing anything.
For the installation error you talk about, i hade allready checked everything 3 times before i posted here, so i am not some kind of neewbie that dont read the installations instrucktions.

But now it works.

Ok. I'm having a slight problem here.

i am currently installing games by using the following process:

1) Create new desktop folder called "game"
2) In that folder, i add: - Index.html (absolutely no code inside it), game.swf, and game.gif
3) I go into Arcade CP, and click "Create game install file"
4) used the following settings:

- Game Name: Game
- Description: A game
- flash file : game.swf
- score variable: game.swf
- game type: activity mod

the rest doesnt really matter.

5) I click "Create"

6) I upload index.html, game.swf, and game.gif to the /includes/arcade/games folder

7) i install the game

____

Now my problem is that the game high scores do not work. I have a game which generates a user score, and has the option to gain a high score, but when i click "Submit Score" the highscore is submitted only to the flash games site - not my high scores. This is a problem with every game i try. I have downloaded them from lots of different sites but i cannot seem to make it work.

I guess this is something to do with the score variable? :(

OH DEAR LORD no way did it work all of a sudden without you doing anything........
Never ind me im toasted.
The ONLY reason all of a sudden it would work now is ....
1. You did what i said in my post or previous post as I suguested reading ......
OR.....
2. Your browser cache caught up with your boards cache....

Dont try to mini slam me for telling you how it is about reading install instructions or reading the thread for help when your topic of a "bug" wich is not a bug was posted ALOT....

Good day sir and glad it's working now........
Ugg im a t0tal newb again ...... 2 years off cant remember jack ... time to get to it

Hmm.. I cannot reproduce this. It works fine on my test board.

Do you think the template style makes a difference? I'm using subsilver2

this is what I have exactly:

when entering the comment after scoring the top score, I typed in:

Code: Select all

[center]

(I RULE!)[/center]
Clicking on my arcade stats, in the comments I see (of my arcade profile):

: arrow:
(I RULE!)

Speaking of subsilver2, in the arcade_stats_body.html file, you should add with; change:

Code: Select all

<table class="tablebg" cellspacing="1" style="table-layout: fixed;">
to

Code: Select all

<table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellspacing="1" style="table-layout: fixed;">
there were a few others that needed the width too, but I can't remember which ones I added and which ones I didn't need to add. But when you look at the subsilver2 template, I'm sure you'll know exactly which one since you wrote the mod.

Hey guy, what's wrong? It's the best source imho. So put a finer point on it, please...

GurlzLubme wrote:I noticed a BB code bug.

When submitting a score, bbcode can be used. If one were to use the center bbcode and smilies, they appear correctly in the champion's comment.

however, when you click on their arcade profile and look under their comments, the first smiley appear in text format instead of the image format.

example:

Code: Select all

[center]   [/center]
will look like this:
: smile : :D :D

Maybe, it appears only after editing older comments while saving a new score, cf. also this reported bug.

On balance, the trim makes the smile not working in phpBB3 !? Hope it helps.

if i'm not mistaken, you need to put in a space between "]" and ":"

like this

Code: Select all

[center] :whateversmilie: [/center]
i've noticed this same thing even when posting in a forum. most smilie code already adds the space before and after the ":" but i think when bbcode is added, the first space gets removed.
