The DL> code is from an incorrect edit.
You change the image by using a different image file.
The category bar height is expanding automatically to fit the image.
The font-size of the category name is a style question and has nothing to do with this mod.
If you have multiple styles on your forum can this mod be used on each of them? How will they be effected if a user switches from one style to another?
I apologise in advance for not reading all 22 pages in ths thread... I did read a few but this was not addressed yet.
I do not want the Boards on the front page, just the Categories - no need for collapsing or expanding at all.
I want my users to click on a Category to see the Boards in that Category so that I can implement a large number of Boards - yet not have a front page 32 screens long!!!
I have played with the individual permissions and settings, but nothing changed.
Anybody else have any suggestions? For instance, should I try to edit the viewforum file and take out the recurrences of the Boards within the categories?
In viewforum_body would this piece of code be the one to remove??
<!-- IF S_HAS_SUBFORUM -->
<!-- INCLUDE forumlist_body.html -->
<br clear="all" />
<!-- ENDIF -->
Before you suggest reduciung the number of Boards, I have to explain that it's a regional aviation forum, I want to list all the airlines (for users to post news articles into) and all the career areas, then the career areas can be pared back if they are not used by the end of the year. But I still need that many Boards.
I want to get that front page as elegant as possible for the users to navigate easily to where they want to go - or to navigate around in a simple manner for discovery.
Someone elsewhere helped me out... I converted each Category to a Forum and made sure "List Subforums in Legend" in that Forum's ACP was set to No. All the subforums appeared listed in a text string of links under the Category/Forum listing (instead of as fiull-blown rows).
He suggested I Lock the converted Categories, but after experimenting I discovered that was not necessary - and I did not really want the lock shown on the icon anyway in case it discouraged my users from Posting anything in there.
I also discovered that when the conversion was done the first subforum was not listed under the Forum name... I saw in that subforum's ACP the "List subforums in legend" setting was moved to NO by default so I changed that to Yes and it popped up in its correct place on the front page.
Many thanks to Kevin Clark for his patience and assistance.
first I was wondering where is the option related to this mod in ACP...
-i am looking for setting it up as hidden the first time they get on the index?
----------------------- Last I was wondering if we could colapse and insted of removing all forums...leaving a banner picture that would allow user to guess what type of forum is hidden?
-maybe just leaving some of the main forums within the category?
anyways like the mod...changed the buttons easily...in prosilver_se ...
thx for this great mod, but i have a little question:
How can i make it that only registered members can use the mod, and not guests?
thx, regards

Being a rank newbie to phpBB, it would have certainly helped if the instructions included the phrase, "Of course, purge and refresh." I have not yet learned that phpBB uses some sort of cache system.
