Yes, it´s the user_id which is posting all the topics ... But you´ll have to purge cached configuration to make it working ...

Thanks Smix.

But I've just made a news post, and no output. Not sure what the problem is, as I've followed the instructions fully and I really need this to work. :)

  • Check the permissions for the user you´ve chosen.
  • Check phpinfo() if you have cURL or fopen enabled (curl is defaultly selected - phpbb_config -> lastrss_type) ...
  • Go to phpMyAdmin into table phpbb_lastrss_autopost and set column 'next_check_after' to 0 (this forces grabing the feed)

1. User permission is set to Admin.
2. cURL is enabled.
3. Completed this last task, did not post.

New error.. :cry:

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WorldofWarcraft Gaming Mouse""' at line 3 [1064]

SQL

SELECT topic_title FROM megalomania_topics WHERE topic_title = "wowinsider.com | Gamestop listing for "WorldofWarcraft Gaming Mouse""

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/mysql.php
LINE: 158
CALL: dbal_mysql->sql_error()

LINE: 244
CALL: autopost_init()

FILE: index.php
LINE: 28

What do you make of this? Can you see what's wrong?

Edit: Now the error message is gone.. Maybe I tried browsing the forum JUST as it updated? A known bug perhaps?

Hmm.. the bot seems to occasionally be posting the same topic multiple times :?:

If you go to this page http://megalomania-eu.com/viewforum.php?f=29 you will see the duplicates of the same topic, any idea how to fix this?
You can log in with the login testuser and the password test123.
edit: Think I fixed this with the fix from earlier pages in this thread.. I should start reading others posts before asking so many questions - sorry! :oops:

And you will also see how it cuts the topic names, for example:
Mythic makes one last case for switching from WoW to Warhammer
becomes
Mythic makes one last case for switching from WoW to Warha
Is there any way to extend the length of the topic name the bot posts?
edit: Think I've fixed this too.. I removed the ´name´ to make room for more topic name!

Thanks! :)

request for new dev

Hi Smix,

In another forum (yours I think) I suggested as a new feature to choose the user_id to post each feed.

Another thing that may be useful : filter the feed with the category. For instance, you have a feed with 2 categories (A and B), then you can declare as 2 seperate entries (feed X - category A and feed X - category B), with 2 seperate destination forums.

Hope you will be able to work on this for the next release ;-)

Thx for everything, and the great Mod you initiated.

Hello Smix! You can disregard all my earlier posts.

Now I get this error everytime I hit my index link:

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Tigole Deep-Breaths more""' at line 3 [1064]

SQL

SELECT topic_title FROM megalomania_topics WHERE topic_title = ""Tigole Deep-Breaths more""

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/mysql.php
LINE: 158
CALL: dbal_mysql->sql_error()

FILE: includes/functions_lastrss_autopost.php
LINE: 159
CALL: dbal_mysql->sql_query()

FILE: includes/functions_lastrss_autopost.php
LINE: 96
CALL: autopost()

FILE: includes/functions_lastrss_autopost.php
LINE: 244
CALL: autopost_init()

FILE: index.php
LINE: 28
CALL: include('includes/functions_lastrss_autopost.php')
If I refresh the browser the error message goes away, but as soon as I click the Index link it's back again.. It's rather annoying! :) :x

Thanks again Smix! :thumbsup: (there really should be a thumbsupsmiley on this forum!)

Another issue: all special or latine characters such as ',à , é, è, create import pb.

is that possible to correct this, or add a module to change this character into non special character à ->a

Thx

... What´s happening? What do you mean with "create import pb"?

All those characters are already UTF-8-ised with phpBB inbuild functions and may not harm the board ...

Here is the error msg I got:
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Incorrect string value: '\xC3' for column 'topic_title' at row 1 [1366]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb_topics (topic_poster, topic_time, forum_id, icon_id, topic_approved, topic_title, topic_first_poster_name, topic_first_poster_colour, topic_type, topic_time_limit, topic_attachment) VALUES (2, 1222070843, '6', 0, 1, 'Saxo Banque | 22/09/08 - Les marchés actions : Vendredi, journée d\'euphorie sur les places boursi', 'blitztrader', 'AA0000', 0, 0, 0)

Apparently and ' generate the issue ...

I also tried in the lastrss function when defining the subject (before cutting it to 100 characters) something like :
$subject = recode_string("lat1..iso646-de",$subject);

But does not work (recode_string not recognized ...)
