Code: Select all

My answer is dunno :p

@RaNGe:
Where did you get your answer is dunno p?
Thanks RaNGe for uncovering another glitch.

Alice is supposed to ignore smilies all together in [DEV] phase.

However, as you found, she sees part of the smilie code: dunno p

smilies are important and should be added later,
however adding smilies is not trivial so it is delayed for now.

This glitch should be tweaked shortly.

Oh yes... That is a fantastic smilies list.
Not getting confused by smilies is the challenging part for the robot.
Smilies DO need to be done, but is delayed for now, to speed things up.

Hi nexties,

I know about your understanding of the current DEV-status, but it would be very nice if you involve us a little bit more in the coding- and system-structure, instead of only using our direct online-reply-and-intelligence-testing for Alice (just my opinion). With an open coding (call it dev, alpha, beta or whatever you think is appropriate), the functions behind could be also simultaniously tested on many testboards with different settings, so the advancement of the development would be much more effective and transpartent in the sense of the phphBB-community.

I completely agree with this, even thought there is not much activity which is needed to make alice smarter and ready to get released..

No.

Project is fully alive.

A nasty cough... Last few weeks, is slowly improving
Due to rest, rest, rest... Plenty of rest. And still not 100% yet!

The corrections discovered on this thread
recently have not been implemented yet
but they will soon.

Finally starting to feel a little better.
Not entirely 100% yet, but coding should begin again this weekend.

In general when code is released, a demand is created, it gets installed and problems are reported, then support is expected. So to reduce confusion in that process, the code has to reach that stage where it is ready to meet those demands.

This is just what I need for my new forum...A bot you can talk to in the forums like a normal user.... I had a forum bot before for phpbb 2.0 but I can't find the download anymore and my site got shutdown ...and I rather update my board to phpbb 3.0 and I really want my forum bot back ..
