Will this work with animated gifs that are uploaded to the board?
There's another auto resize mod that does not. It works if the files are hosted on another server.
Just curious before I remove the other mod and install yours if it will.

Thank you.

Sorry, if you want to resize animated GIFs, you need to have the library ImageMagick installed in your server, GD doesn't support it (yet). I'll think to improve the mod by this way when ImageMagick will be popular and installed in almost servers like GD.
Thank you! :)

Thank you for testing it!
Please download one more time and re-upload dv_functions_image.php into your includes/ folder. Now the script does better for transparent GIFs and transparent 24-bit PNGs. It still doesn't work fine for transparent 8-bit PNG, because I cannot detect transparency in 8-bit PNG. It's still ok for non-transparent images in JPEG, GIF and PNG.

Only the weight? no.
But when you resize its dimensions (width and height), the weight will also be changed.

find

Code: Select all

<td class="row1" width="35%"><b class="genmed">{L_CURRENT_IMAGE}: </b><br /><span class="gensmall">{L_AVATAR_EXPLAIN}</span></td>
Replace with

Code: Select all

	<td class="row1" width="35%"><b class="genmed">{L_CURRENT_IMAGE}: </b><br /><!-- IF not S_AVATAR_AUTO_RESIZE --><span class="gensmall">{L_AVATAR_EXPLAIN}</span><!-- ENDIF --></td>
Its untested.

doviet, you didn't understand; your mod resizes also attached images in messages (and not only avatars).
It also happen to me using your mod: attached images get resized.

I think I found a solution. Don't know if it is the best way but anyway...

Open functions_upload.php

Find

Code: Select all

else if(!empty($config['avatar_auto_resize']))
Replace with

Code: Select all

else if(!empty($config['avatar_auto_resize']) AND $_GET['mode']=='avatar')
Can anybody else try it and confirm it works?
