Extension Manager re-check all versions color

Post by John connor » Sun Dec 01, 2019 6:22 am

Being color blind, I find it very hard to distinguish between red and green colors when they are in a minute quantity. Meaning if it's small it's hard for me to see a difference. I can see stop lights perfectly fine.

My idea here is that the colors for updated and needs updating be changed to at least red and blue or something else. Give us color blind people a break please. :cry:

In admin.css change (green)

Code: Select all

.current-ext {
	color: #228822;
}
to (dark-blue)

Code: Select all

.current-ext {
	color: #052584;
}

Or possibly use a symbol (tick/cross, plus/minus) in addition to colour.

Not being colourblind, it's almost impossible for me to judge whether any of the default colours used in the default prosilver style could cause difficulties for colourblind people. In that respect I do feel a "just in case" scenario seems the right thing to do.
How about a CB prosilver colourscheme as a default addition which could be activated by a button/switch in the ACP?

A YES from me if only to get the colourscheme guru's thinking about this.
The year is 2192. The British Prime Minister visits Brussels to ask for an extension of the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.

From what I have read this will be an easy option in the "new" style that is being developed.

Perhaps we should also consider just not being cryptic or symbolic about it, and simply say what we mean. To make the meaning clear for everyone; regardless of how intuitive the chosen color is to someone, or whether they knew what symbols like "!" or "+" intended to convey.

e.g. "1.4.7 (latest version)" or "1.4.5 (newer version available)".

The typology of visual impairment that afflicts the OP is located in 7-10% of the male population, the female population is completely exempt.
And it is the largest in terms of proportions.

To solve the problem easily I have already proposed the solution, quick, simple and effective.

By default you see an exclamation mark icon.
