Terms & Conditions

Post by D@ve » Wed Oct 02, 2013 9:32 am

It would be cool to have the Terms & Conditions editable via the ACP (not just in the language files) and to have an option to force the user to confirm the terms if they were altered.

As it's something you're unlikely to change on a regular basis I'm not sure that would be necessary.

It might not be changed often but, when it is changed, his idea would make it much easier to edit. I like the idea...

Do you change the name of the board or the "board description" on a regular base? I don't but still there is an editable option in the ACP.

I edit the terms & condition at least twice a year.

And its hard for mods to establish a new (or changed) rule, if the users haven't confirmed it. Since the legal issues concerning privacy protection and stuff get more and more complicated for board operators, I think something like this should be a core feature...

That's different. They are things you edit to tell people what your board is called.

The T&Cs are probably not changed by most board owners as they're pretty standard text and don't need changing for most people.

That's different.
Is it? I guess you having a board yourself. How often did you changed your board name in the past?

The T&Cs are probably not changed by most board owner
...since they simply can't.
(or don't know how)

And actually it wouldn't be much efford to implement that...

Yes it is different because you HAVE to tell people what your board is called. That's the whole reason for having it. Therefore it has to be simple to allow people to do that.

The default T&Cs cover most circumstances right out of the box.

They can ask. That's why we're here. And there's a KB article.
