I'll let you go and lookup what a database flag is in the vast amount of spare time that you have

and then you can come back and tell me everything that I didn't actually propose for the umpteenth time - and you can be a winner my son!

You probably weren't too bothered about having a web forum until someone created one. You probably weren't too bothered about being able to split topics until somebody created the function.

"I don't see the need" is a valid individual response; but it isn't a strong or impassioned argument and as such adds little insight into the value of an idea. Unimpassioned opinions have never been a reason to hold back progress.
I'm a massive Vw enthusiast and have been for many years...But guess what, every time Vw release a new model I don't wish to own it. I'm quite happy with my 1983 Mk1 Golf, and my 1992 Corrado G60 ;)

My "I DON'T see the need" holds exactly the same weight as your "I DO see the need" :? That is my point, you think it's something worthwhile, while I don't. I've commented on the positives of actually splitting a topic which is what I would rather do. To have this suggestion in the core is in my opinion a bad idea, hence why I suggested it may be better proposed as an extension that people can choose to add if they wish.

Only children think of it as "winning" something, I'm an adult.

I quoted your proposal.

Too funny... :D

In fact, I've just noticed, that when you add someone to your 'foe' list (never had to on our forum before in ten years) the exact same thing happens on the screen as I was envisaging in my idea, after a moderator would 'Nudge' a post. And it works beautifully!

That's how crazy my idea is - same concept is already in core

Perfect! Too bad you didn't explain that all you wanted was a global ignore feature that moderators could set...instead of a "one level deep sub-thread model."

OK, we are done here. This topic is no longer serving the purpose of discussing the idea.

Everyone, check your PMs.
