Customise Forum Font Sizes

Post by Ideas Bot » Thu Mar 29, 2018 6:49 pm

Things are looking a bit small to me. Over time, as monitor resolutions have gotten higher, the font size has remained the same on phpBB as far as I know.

I think it's time to have something built into phpBB to allow administrators the choice of having a default set of various font sizes on their forums that they can choose from for their viewers. This could include how the text shows up in topics (such as this one), the ACP components, and so on.

Note that what I am suggesting has nothing to do with allowing users to change the font size on their own, like this. What I am referring to is a default setting that is always on for all users based on what an admin has selected in the ACP. A good presentation example would be HiFiKabin's website at https://hifikabin.me.uk/ which has obviously been modded.

You can install my Large Font extension, and set the default for guests as described here

Once logged in the user can select the size s/he wants.

If you want it to be larger by default for ALL users (both current and new) please post a question in the extension support.

This will be addressed in 3.3 for prosilver and the new theme as well.
