Ridiculous, translations should be done by humans, no matter how good Google Translate can do the job.
The extension description is something you are probably going to read before installing an extension anyway, even before downloading it.
A bug is a feature that hasn't made it to the manual (yet)

Agreed, especially for technical documents. People rely too much on Google translate as it is.

I am not sure if it is technically possible to translate an extension'd description as that comes from the composer.json file and even if it was you would do it?

I could possibly see an argument for translating the CDB details, but again who would do it and maintain it in all (currently) 55 languages?

At the end of the day this is an English (or maybe at times American!) speaking board and that is the way it works. If I use a software package from, say, a French board I don't expect them to cater for my needs - I either work out what it is about or I go elsewhere.

No, you do not understand me, I would like an option in the language files to be able to translate the description of the extensions in the file composer.json on line "description". The only part of the translation that can not be translated understood?

LOOK, everything translated into Portuguese, only the description that is not possible

Where should this translated string go? Into the core files of phpBB? So phpBB needs to know every existing and planned extension? Sounds crazy.
In the composer.json file within the extension (where the current description comes from). As the standardized composer schema does not know anything about translations, you have two possibilities:
  1. use the current description field and put all translations in there, maybe prepended with their ISO language code
  2. enhance the schema (create a issue) to accept translated descriptions and enhance the upload extension to read those description (so this is also a extension enhancement request)
Next step will be to find translators for all those descriptions to translate them in all 55 phpBB-languages and dialects.

That does not come from the language file - if fact there is no way that it can as the language file is not loaded at that point. If I am not mistaken that screen shot is from an extension and not core phpBB.

As far as I am aware there is no option to have multiple languages in the composer.json file. As this can only be seen by the board Admin then I cannot see that it is an issue

First of all, I'm just talking about the line of description and not the extension "upload extensions", but of course this is an idea that bothers me to be able to translate everything except the description, I do not know anything about programming just wanted to share minah idea with you only that!
but it is only a detail that can translate any extension and can not translate the description of it :(

If it is such a problem for you then translate the Description line in composer.json yourself

That's not a good way to get your point across.
BTW your starting post should have been somewhat more informative. With the extra info now, I don't think it's a ridiculous idea but I still don't feel any need for it (since it's such a simple edit).

Anyway:It shouldn't be all that difficult to translate that line using Google translate and then (as a native speaker) to reformulate that to a formally correct (or informal) description.

Unfortunately your statement doesn't pass scrutiny.
Auto Groups isn't translated (not that I feel that it's necessary)
CHANGELOG isn't translated.
Homepage isn't translated.
GPL-2.0-only could have been LPG-2.0-só (Licença Pública Geral ) although the LPG part could be confusing. ;)
