Would like to see the number of "views"

Post by JFK Numbers »

This is a constant nuisance in all sites across ForumLand. I post something, would like to see whether somebody OTHER THAN MYSELF has read it.

I keep on editing stuff, re-submitting it, making a post perfect. When I look, there are like 6 views.

Are those from actual, real human beings, or just from silly ole' moi? Who cares how many times I have read my own post?

TIA,

-Ramon F Herrera

It's a minor change to viewtopic.php.

Find:

Code: Select all

if (isset($user->data['session_page']) && !$user->data['is_bot'] && (strpos($user->data['session_page'], '&t=' . $topic_id) === false || isset($user->data['session_created'])))
Replace with:

Code: Select all

if ($user->data['user_id'] != $topic_data['topic_poster'] && isset($user->data['session_page']) && !$user->data['is_bot'] && (strpos($user->data['session_page'], '&t=' . $topic_id) === false || isset($user->data['session_created'])))
