username bbcode?

Is there a way to get the current logged in user displayed through a bbcode?

So for example, if I'd make a post like

Hello [user][/user],
...

then it would be displayed for Johnny User as

Hello Johnny User,
...

Similar to /me, /you etc... functionality in certain chat environments, but the current user specifically is what I'd be looking for...

But I'm not sure where to put those <head> tags and the JS - I'm not averse to implementing that if someone could please elaborate on it, or perhaps there is a simpler solution?

I think this could easily be done.

Ok, the basic codes from this topic in the extension we tested worked so I added user color and css for the username text. Made it capatible with Posting Buttons and the popular ABBC3 Buttons. Then I pushed it into the ACP to use with Board Announcements and whatever else if you want.

Let's test this out...

I'm interested in this as well. Will you post the extension here for all to use? Your zip file is gone now.

Are we talking BBCode or extension here? A BBCode that requires extra programming, an extension or code changes etc, isn’t strictly a BBCode.
