any chance to find a flickr video bbcode here? Have searched for a while on google and this forum, but haven't found one yet. The Flickr BBCode mentioned in this thread doesn't work with videos. Any help? ;)

Thanks in Advance,

Do you have any links to some videos on flickr so I can take a look at things and maybe see if I can figure one out.

inline HTML code

Post by green baron »

I wanted to have an bbcode to pass through html code.
[html] {TEXT}[/html]
{TEXT}
However, it doesn't seem to work and display the value of {TEXT} instead of intepreting the HTML code in {TeXT} ? Any idea why ?

You can try this:

BBCode

Code: Select all

[viddyou]http://www.viddyou.com/viddstream?videoid={text}[/viddyou]
HTML Replacement

Code: Select all

<object width="640" height="480"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.viddyou.com/get/v2_full/{text}.swf" /><embed src="http://www.viddyou.com/get/v2_full/{text}.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="480"></embed></object>
Help Line

Code: Select all

[viddyou]Insert Video URL here[/viddyou]
Hope that works. If not, let me know. ;)

Am afraid it does not work. Tried various different imput of the video id..but still nothing :-(

HTML has been removed out of phpBB for a reason. Any way you try to bring it back to phpBB3 will cause a large security issue. You can use BBCodes to get certain tags enabled, but trying to enable HTML as a whole again is a bad idea.

dnb wrote:im using WP-UNITED FOR PHPBB3..

My forum members can log into wordpress through wp-united and crosspost their podcast to my forum, if a member has a gap/space between their name the player won't showup. I was hoping someone could edit the bbcode the accept urls with a space.

This is the reason why i cant use your method of add "%20" between the spaces
hm. try combining the url and simpletext tokens to work around this:

Code: Select all

{URL}{SIMPLETEXT}
this appears to work, where using the url token alone does not.
please do not PM me to ask for help. thanks.

Replace the BBCode above with this and you wont need to use just the Video ID. Makes it easier for people to just copy the URL and use that instead of sometimes trying to find just the Video ID. Not everyone is that smart. lol I had huge issues with that on my board. People couldnt figure it out so I changed it to just copy the entire URL and most now everyone gets it right. lol

BBCode

Code: Select all

[megavideo]http://www.megavideo.com/?v={simpletext}[/megavideo]
Oh course its your choice in the end. Both work great. I just find the latter more user friendly for the new people.
