I'm trying to do embed for flash"

Code: Select all

[Embed={NUMBER}]{TEXT}[/Embed]
<EMBED width="{NUMBER}" height="{NUMBER}" SRC="{TEXT}" autoplay="false">
Can I make it use say 500 as a default if no number is specified?

If I go like this:

Code: Select all

[Embed=]{TEXT}[/Embed]
<EMBED SRC="{TEXT}" autoplay="false">
It makes it really small...

I need a BBCode that will allow a user to add share their facebook album in a post. The URL for the facebook album looks like this:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=5&id=5&l=5ae1 (I took the liberty of editing aid= #'s to be an album that doesn't exist. Let me know if this matters and I will supply a valid one.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was also wondering if there is some bbcode that will allow a URL to be opened in a seperate window. I don't want to make any URL posted open in a new window, but I would like some BBCode that a user can use for this purpose.

TIA
As for the facebook question, I will look into it later tonight.

As for your second question, Forget the BBCode for that, Just use this mod. I use it and works perfect!

URL linking to a new window:

Code: Select all

<a href="{URL}" target="_blank">{TEXT}</a>

Code: Select all

[external={URL}]{TEXT}[/external]

Hi all,
I just started with PHPbb 3.0.5 and stumble over creation of custom BBcodes.
I need to make a yellow highlight for text.
Please post the syntax, my test posts don't show the effect, but the code I entered.
Thanks.

You may want to try to look at this MOD or ask the man behind that MOD. He is really good at that kind of stuff.

The BBCode usage would be:

Code: Select all

[hilit]{TEXT}[hilit]
HTML Replacement:

Code: Select all

<span style="background-color: yellow">{TEXT}</span>
Of course you can replace the BBCode name with what you need as well as the color in the HTML replacement (name or hex).

Thank you very much, it worked.
What threw me off is that the sample syntax in the script itself is very different:
[highlight={COLOR}]{TEXT}[/highlight]
<span style="background-color: {COLOR};">{TEXT}</span>

The example allows the user to choose his color, my notation forces a yellow (or other admin-defined) color.

NBA.com VIDEO

Post by karlosthestick » Fri Oct 30, 2009 5:10 am

OK don't think anyone in here has posted a Video BBCODE for NBA.com so here goes:

BBcode:

Code: Select all

[NBAVID]http://www.nba.com/video/{SIMPLETEXT1}/{SIMPLETEXT2}/{SIMPLETEXT3}/{SIMPLETEXT4}/{SIMPLETEXT5}/{SIMPLETEXT6}/[/NBAVID]
HTML Replace:

Code: Select all

<object width="388" height="394" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="ep"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=nba&videoId={SIMPLETEXT1}/{SIMPLETEXT2}/{SIMPLETEXT3}/{SIMPLETEXT4}/{SIMPLETEXT5}/{SIMPLETEXT6}" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=nba&videoId={SIMPLETEXT1}/{SIMPLETEXT2}/{SIMPLETEXT3}/{SIMPLETEXT4}/{SIMPLETEXT5}/{SIMPLETEXT6}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="388" wmode="transparent" height="394"></embed></object>
Also I get stuck with ONE thing:

Some NBA.com video pages follow this format: http://www.nba.com/video/{SIMPLETEXT1}/ ... IMPLETEXT6}/

Some others follow this format: http://www.nba.com/video/{SIMPLETEXT1}/ ... index.html[/u]

I can't work out one code to handle both instances. I tried adding {SIMPLETEXT7} to the bbcode and NOT including it in the HTML replacement but that didn't work. Is there a code I can add to the BBcode section to IGNORE a section of the contents?

Anyway - if you want NBA vids on your forum the above will work but the user will have to delete any "index.html" suffix.

I know that you can make a URL appear with a short description...

eg

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... nsfer.html

becomes

Hull In Transfer Probe

Is there a code to do this automatically ?
