This BBcode allows your members to add a coloured border and tiled background to their posts.
You need to create a folder on your server called bgimages and upload your tiles to it in gif format and number them 01, 02, 03 etc;

BBcode usage

Code: Select all

[bgimage]{COLOR},{NUMBER},{TEXT}[/bgimage]
HTML replacement

Code: Select all

<table>
     <tr>
	<td style="padding-left:1cm; padding-right:1cm; padding-top:1cm; padding-bottom:1cm; border: 5px ridge {COLOR};" background=bgimages/{NUMBER}.gif>{TEXT}
         </td>
      </tr>
</table>
Help line

Code: Select all

[bgimage]Border_Color,Image_Number,Your Text[/bgimage]

You can use the image tag, but you wouldn't get the thumbnail feature that tinypic has.
In this demo, the board there has that BBcode, and I am using it in that post. If you click on the image, it will open up to it's full size, all with using the single BBcode.

Spoilbox

Features:
  • Fits with the phpBB3 prosilver style.
  • Smooth animation on opening.
  • Automatic loading of jQuery.
  • Doesn't conflict with other javascript libraries.
  • Falls back on black text on black background if the client doesn't support Javascript.
Demo

BBCode:

Code: Select all

[spoiler]{TEXT}[/spoiler]
Replacement:

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript">

	if(typeof(jQuery) == 'undefined')
	{
		document.write('<sc'+'ript type="text/javasc'+'ript" src="ht'+'tp://code.jquery.com/jque'+'ry-latest.min.js"></scr'+'ipt>');
		jQuery.noConflict();
	}

</script>

<dl class="codebox">
	<dt>
		Spoiler:
		<a onclick="jQuery(this).parents('.codebox').find('.keskaa-content').toggle('slow'); return false;" href="#">Toggle</a>
	</dt>
	<dd>
		<div class="keskaa-content" style="display: none;border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204);">{TEXT}</div>
		<noscript>
			<span style="background-color: black; color:black;">{TEXT}</span>
		</noscript>
	</dd>
<dt style="border-bottom:none; color: #CCCCCC; text-align: right; margin-bottom: -6px;">
	<a href="http://haxalot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11">Spoilbox</a></dt>
</dl>
Don't be an asshole and remove the spoilbox link (I'm looking in you general direction, Boardtalk.net)

Is there a bbcode for not only mp3, wav etc. but for ram as well? I don't mind if ram is separate.

How to create applet and youtube bbcodes for phpBB3

Post by kulinar » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:08 pm

One of the super duper functions in third series of phpBB is creating custom bbcodes. In other words bbcodes for whatever you can think of.

For security reasons placing HTML code i forbidden but it is no longer a problem because of the bbcodes.

Let’s start with the applet tag. In admin control panel (ACP) click on tab Posting and from the left menu choose BBCodes. Then we click on Add a new BBcode. So far these steps are same for both of the bbcodes.

Then in textarea BBCode usage we place:

[applet={NUMBER1},{NUMBER2},{INTTEXT}]{URL}[/applet]

in textarea HTML replacement place:

<applet width={NUMBER1} height={NUMBER2}>
<param name=code value="{INTTEXT}">
<param name=codebase value="{URL}">
</applet>

Demo

For the youtube bbcode:

In BBCode usage

[youtube]{SIMPLETEXT}[/youtube]

In HTML replacement:

<object width="720" height="578"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{SIMPLETEXT}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{SIMPLETEXT}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="720" height="578"></embed></object>

Demo

Here are examples of using the bbcodes:

For the applet bbcode you have to know the directory where applet class exists (codebase) and the name of the java class (code). The we write: [applet=XXX,YYY,NameOf.class]http://site.com/applets/example/[/applet], where XXX and YYY are the width and the height of the applet in pixels.

For the YouTube , where hD3deQmyRHw is the last part of the URL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD3deQmyRHw.

The width and height of youtube bbcodes are hard-cored but you can always edit bbcodes. If you hesitate how to do it check the applet bbcode.

Borrowed from my blog.

I will be glad to here comments ;).
