I think the problem is the & and #, neither one of them will work with the {SIMPLETEXT}, there fore the {SIMPLETEXT} command stops at either one of them. So either you would have to write at least 2 different youtube bbcodes one for the & and another for the # and a 3rd one for those short urls like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zh1byoNQTo.

But I could be totally wrong too....I made my for the short URL, since most of them long urls can be shorten up.

But yeah a mod where it wouldn't matter which URL you put in would be nice.

The problem is not just with the "youtube" tag, but NONE of the custom BB Tags are getting parsed correctly. There is already a bug reported in this regard, so I am sure the development team is working on fixing this.

Hello,

I have a problem with adding custom BBcode:

Bbcode:

Code: Select all

[img-right]{TEXT}[/img-right]
HTML:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.site.com/photo/{TEXT}-big.jpg" class="thickbox"><img src="http://www.site.com/photo/{TEXT}-sq.jpg" style="border-color: rgb(119, 119, 119);" class="imgmargin" align="right" border="1" /></a>
PHPBB3 doesn't parse my BBcode, it displays just simple text. I wonder how can I fix it?

Slightly off-topic, but still relating to BBCode's... I wish to make a custom 'Code' box

Code: Select all

[ code ] - text -[ / code ] - with no spaces
so I can change the colour of come key words, I notice that

Code: Select all

[ code = php ] - text - [ / code ] - with no spaces
does exactly this, but I am unable to find the 'default' BBCodes inside PhpBB, can anyone help please?

Does anyone know how to put the Xbox Live's Gamertag with a custom BBCode?

I tried this but doesn't work.

[gamertag]{SIMPLETEXT}[/gamertag]

<iframe src="http://gamercard.xbox.com/{SIMPLETEXT}" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" height="140" width="204"></iframe>

FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D A little mistake in HTML Replacment. :)

XBOX Live Gamertag

BBCode:
[gamertag]{SIMPLETEXT}[/gamertag]

HTML Replacement:
<iframe src="http://gamercard.xbox.com/{SIMPLETEXT}.card" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" height="140" width="204"></iframe>

Enjoy! :)

What exactly are you trying to have your custom BBcode accomplish?

well for example the youtube thing:

[youtube]{SIMPLETEXT}[/youtube] should work as well as
[youtube]{URL}={SIMPLETEXT}[/youtube] and
[youtube]{URL}={SIMPLETEXT}&{TEXT}[/youtube] and
[youtube]{URL}={SIMPLETEXT1}#{SIMPLETEXT2}[/youtube]

another one could be:

[box]{TEXT}[/box] should work as well as
[box={COLOR}]{TEXT}[/box] ...

just examples.

Is there a guide, how to or anything for BBCode?
Can the HTML replacement be just HTML? Or can I put inline php code? javascript?

Of I understand it correctly the phpBB BBCode 'processor' , is just doing token/string replacement, its not really processing anything. The client (browser) would be doing the work of executing the code HTML replacement code, yes?
