any idea..
How about telling us which spoiler code you're using (paste the BBCode usage and HTML replacement code -- in CODE tags -- here). Then tell us what "can't show the spoiler" means. Does that mean the entire code isn't working (you're getting something like [spoiler]blah[/spoiler]) or that the spoiler text isn't shown when you hover over/click it?

Anyone knows a BBCode for thumbnails? One to open in a pop-up if its possible. Or at least one that opens in a new window but in a different one.

Thanks,
Khoala.

After playing a bit I got my custom bbcode to work, kind of. I not only had to edit the original file it called but also in the bbcode itself I hade to change all the "&" to "&" for it to work. Don't know why switching to PHP5 would do that but it did.

I didn't remember what you were having problems with (until I went back and looked because you didn't quote or link to the problem), but you should always use "&" in XHTML (which phpBB outputs).

Hello everyone! I did a search in this topic for table codes, but none of them were what I’m specifically looking for as a majority of them looked too confusing for members.

I’m curious, is there a way to create a table where members can add in [td] fields without it having to be automatically embedded? Also, same question in regards to cellpadding, cellspacing, and customizing it in the post in regards to color, etc.

Something like this is what I’m looking for (if it makes sense):

Code: Select all

[table (insert data here)][tr][td]{TEXT}[/td](insert additional column)[/tr] (insert additional rows here)[/table]

If your still wanting a Thumbnail BBCode, I got this working on my board:

BBCode usage:

Code: Select all

[thumbs]{URL}[/thumbs]
HTML Replacement:

Code: Select all

<a href="{URL}"><img src="{URL}" width="40%" height="40%" alt="Thumbnail Image" /></a>
To get the BBCode Thumb to instead open in a new tab/window, then use this:
HTML Replacement:

Code: Select all

<a href="{URL}" target="_blank"><img src="{URL}" width="40%" height="40%" alt="Thumbnail Image" /></a>
Using target="" is NOT valid XHTML, so your code will not validate, but it will work.

While editing BB Codes for embedding youtube videos - i am getting the following message -

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /adm/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Please help

How did you access the ADM, typing into the address bar, or clicking the Admin link @ bottom of page? Did this occur while editing, or when you tried to login to the adm?

Which CSS file should bbcode-specific stuff go into - content? common?

if it's simple CSS, just include it in a STYLE attribute. Ideally, BBCodes should not require file edits (those are MODs, then).

If you have lots of CSS that's not style-dependent, I'd try putting it in it's own style file and including that in overall_header.html (although I've had problems doing that in the past with template CSS). If it is style-dependent, figure out which file makes more sense.

It might help if you described the BBCode more....

It's a spoiler tag. We have several different styles, and setting the font and background color always to #000000 isn't the best solution (for instance, a dark-backgrounded style). There are others that could benefit, like our mobile style being streamlined for certain tags.

I use the Spoiler bbcode that Highway of Life posted, except for the word Spoiler there is no other text involved, I removed the background & border colours, so the bbcode works perfectly on any existing styles, no matter how light or dark they may be. Depending on what style (& colours) are in use on your board, it would be easiest to just have the word Spoiler have it's own background colour, but no other colour would then be needed, font or background.
